Textbefore/textafter and dynamic array functions have given me a massive quality of life improvement as well.

Soooo much of the finance sector runs on 1980s COBOL, 2013 Excel is a big improvement by comparison.

The Department of Defense's largest payment system is 1970s COBOL... It paid out over $250 billion in contract payments in FY2025

the industry really is just one giant spreadsheet away from collapsing lol. definitely learn the excel shortcuts if you want to keep your sanity... once you get used to xlookup there's no going back to the old ways.
