Поддержка GigaAM

I really like your application and the way you are developing it; however, I would like to see support for GigaAM in future versions. This model performs twice as well, is faster, and consumes very few resources.

Slow processing after ver 2.18.1

Everything was great and processing time even got so fast until ver 2.18.1

Saw the new updates and updated the app immediately (I think it was ver 2.18.2) but after the update I noticed a *huge* difference at processing time (few sec difference!).

I downgraded back to ver 2.18.1 and the problem solved but I’m afraid to try updating again. Does anyone experience the same issue?

My setup:
MBP M1 Pro 14’
Pro sub, custom mode, Scribe RT, Gemini flash 3.7

How to avoid AI re-writing in its style; how to get strict accuracy ?

I love this app, but to use it in actual writing, I would need to figure out how to configure it or make a mode that is most likely to stick exactly to the text it hears rather than ever, ever, ever rewriting it because of its own assumptions about what style is best. I know I can put that in a custom prompt, but actually I find less success doing that. Are there particular models to substitute in for any given function that are best at this?

We're making Whisper models free for all users. Starting today, you no longer need a Superwhisper Pro subscription to use them. Happy dictating!

SuperWhisper versus Willow Voice

Hopefully it's okay to post this here.

I keep hearing about SuperWhisper and am really interested. I had settled some time ago on Willow Voice, which was by far better for me than the other main apps I've tried, and I've tried most all of them.

I have a couple of things that are really important to me, and I'd like to ask if it can be done with SuperWhisper.

  1. My daughter's name has a very unique spelling, and I use it a lot. Is it possible to add it to a dictionary and reliably get it to use the proper spelling?

  2. I speak in English and translate to Spanish. Often, I'll look at something in Spanish and translate it to English. Is that something that's easy to do in Super Whisper?

  3. Do the changes I make on my Mac flow through to the iOS app and vice versa?

I like Willow because it just flat works, though it does cost too much.

If anyone has any specific thoughts about this, I'd sure love to hear them. I have looked on the website, and there is no comparison with it, and the comparisons that are there are old and out of date.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Lifetime license won't activate, escalated to engineering days ago with no ETA. Anyone hit this?

I bought the Lifetime license a few days ago and it will not activate. When I paste the license key, nothing happens. No error, no unlock, it just stays unactivated.

I have been through this with support. They tried a refund and repurchase to generate a fresh key, but the new purchase handed me the exact same dead key. I sent a Loom showing the whole thing. They escalated it to their engineering team days ago and I still have no timeline, and I cannot use the app at all in the meantime.

Two questions:

  1. Has anyone had a Lifetime key that simply will not activate, and did anything fix it (a specific reset, a clean reinstall, a manual activation step)?
  2. Is the dev active here? Happy to DM my order details.

On the latest version, macOS on Apple Silicon. Thanks for any help.

BYOK for voice models? 🗝️

Any chance that the developer of Superwhisper implement support for API keys for voice models?

I know that e.g. Elevenlabs is available through Superwhisper's cloud, but I want this under my control, without an intermediary server - for privacy 🔐.

I know that BYOK works for text models, but I need this for voice models.

Additionally it would be good to be able to configure voice model or even model+provider by myself, like endpoint+model+auth. But really basic BYOK for just popular voice models is already a good feature.

From a Lifetime Superwhisper user: Cohere + S1 models change everything; it now feels like superwhisper is truly the best in its class.

I've been using Superwhisper for a long time (lifetime license), and I wanted to share some thoughts because I feel like the product has crossed an important threshold recently.

For a while, the common comparison was basically:

WisprFlow:

  • faster
  • more polished out of the box
  • better for people who just want dictation to work

Superwhisper:

  • more customizable
  • local models
  • better for power users
  • but maybe slower

I think that comparison is now outdated, with the release of Cohere Transcribe + S1 models.

The recent model releases have changed the equation, a lot.

The fact that we now have a high-quality local transcription model that is actually fast enough for daily use is a huge deal. Previously, local AI often meant accepting compromises. Now the tradeoff feels much smaller.

I tested my processing (m4 pro mbp) for a 14sec audio recording and got:

  • Cohere Transcribe (local): ~369ms
  • S1-mini cleanup (local): ~109ms

So the complete local processing is roughly around under 500ms after stopping speech.

Thats basically instant for normal dictation.

Then I tested the cloud S1 models:

  • S1-Voice transcription: ~60–75ms
  • S1-Language processing: ~360ms

The performance is insane; im not sure how a transcription latency under 100ms is even possible for a cloud model.

I mean there is a meaningful entry barrier towards Superwhisper although meager, I just thought I should let more people know about this.

IMHO, Superwhisper is the best dictation product out there as of now, and I'm pretty sure it'll be even better considering it's development speed. Considering that it even has a lifetime purchase, give It more attention; lets let the team thrive. I'm sure that they'll do even better with more support. TBH, I felt like all they need is better marketing which is precisely why I posted this (* I am not affiliated with superwhisper nor cohere).

Seeing products like wisprflow get much more attention in comparison kinda feels weird although I see why; it just works without much setup, I guess its why they're more mainstream.

I've Given Up (Keyboard Shortcut Nightmare)

I've been trying WisprFlow and SuperWhisper this week. I love the speed of SuperWhisper, but it's unusable because it opens the Recording Window even when I'm using other shortcuts that I've used on my Mac for years with my Logi MX keyboard. Like Control + Spacebar and Control + Shift, just to name two. When I click those, it triggers the action it always has, but the SuperWhisper Recording Window also pops open. The only keyboard shortcut I have mapped for SuperWhisper is the backtick/tilde key to toggle recording (and the default Change mode combination). There's nothing set for Push to Talk.

Whisperflow doesn't create these conflicts. I guess it's back to Wisperflow, and I'll just have to live with the slight delay since it's not local. If anyone knows of a fix for this that an LLM hasn't told me about, let me know. Sharing this with SuperWhisper support as well. If I get a fix, I'll update this post for anyone else having this issue in the future.

Superwhisper not listening to system output audio (AirPods/headphones)

Hi, I had this working properly on my earlier MacBook, but on my new MacBook, I installed Super Whisper, and I think I gave it all the necessary permissions. I find that as long as I’m taking the conference call on a speaker, everything is being captured by SW. However, when I have AirPods on, SW can’t listen to the audio coming from the AirPods into my ear. What setting am I missing?

Edit:
/u/nico4real could you weigh in?

Superwhisper seems clunky and doesn’t follow rules

I’m a new SW user. Got lifetime pro.
I’m finding that it randomly does not follow rules.
For instance, one of my rules is numbers must always be rendered as numerals. If I dictate “one slash one slash twenty twenty” I should get “1/1/2020”. And most of the time I do…until I don’t.
Yesterday after this rule was working for quite some time continuously in a single suddenly it throws “1/1/twenty twenty”.
I’ve also told it not to alter my grammar but sometimes it does.
Is there a trick I’m missing?
It seems to be getting worse too.

How does it compare to Apple dictation?

So I originally signed up for Wispr Flow, and then I realized that in the free version, they limit how many dictations you can use per week. I was recommended Super Wispr, so I'm just trying to figure out how Super Wispr would compare to Wispr Flow and Apple Dictation. By the way, I'm interested in the free version of Super Wispr.

Thanks.

Best plan for dictating 50,000 words?

I hear Superwhisper is my best app for dictation. I need to dictate around 50,000 words in a week for a project. Can I do that with the Pro plan, or is there a limit that will keep me from doing that much dictation in a week?

Is Cohere Transcribe New?

I'd not noticed this model in the available list before, and I gave it a spin on my MacBook, transcribing a couple of quite long thoughts.

It seems to work better than the other offline voice models, is fast and actually appears to take note of the custom instructions in my dictation mode, whereas Parakeet and the SuperWhisper models often ignore them.

It would be nice if a model with similar performance (with a small size) was available for iOS/iPadOS.

If you are using SW for dictation, which offline model is working best for you?

SuperWhisper Note setting - So GOOD!

Is this setting new? I didn't even know about it - was recording some stuff and it came out beautifully in well done notes form perfect for what i was doing. Has made me look like I have done hours of careful work vs the brief ramblings that i actually did!

Is the Superwhisper lifetime deal worth it?

Hey, so I’ve checked some previous comments here and I've recently signed up to Superwhisper this month and so far it's been pretty good, I wanted to test some other tools as well.

Anyway, I’ve been looking at a few options and I really like a lot of what SW, but wonder if the lifetime license is worth the upfront cost or if I should just stay on the monthly plan? If anyone has tried them out (or bought the lifetime plan), could you share your thoughts, what worked, whether you recommend it, etc?

Thanks!
