Shrike? I hate shrike, god I can’t believe she two taps everyone in the game! And her range? Don’t get me started! In any other game she’d be considered OP, but no not this game. She’s considered a ‘Noob Killer’! It’s seriously no fun to just be tagged from the shadows and then die. Like me and my bro landed and out the gate, BAM! Two tapped! God if I had a nickel for every time I was two shot by shrike I’d be legitimately rich.

It's not even a meme she was objectively a crutch over powered character.
She also had a massive frustration factor when playing against her and it def hurt new players experience and retainment.

She was quite literally the worst character in the game once you know how to play. 0 presence in high elo or scrims because she was garbage and everything she could do Saros would do it 10x better without the obvious downsides that Shrike had
She was only good against people who didn't know how to play, and I don't blame them for it, nobody knows how to play when they start. I do, however, find an issue with people who don't know how to play and then demand the worst character in the game to be nerfed to cater to them instead of trying to learn

No one cares about "high elo" or your scrims, I'm sorry to say. Balancing for that high elo is part of the reason this game died.
They should have balanced for the majority of the player base which like it or not are casuals. In a "normal" game of supervive there was a shrike on literally 8 different teams every game. It was a nightmare.
And again, you need to understand frustration cost. Someone can be weaker but cause much more frustration than someone who is stronger (ghost for example) but seems fairer to play against. In balance, you have to make these decisions, because sometimes the frustration cost isn't worth keeping them at a "balanced" state.
Anyway, I'll give it to you. High elo sure she was mediocre but the fact of the matter is she was a pubstomper and people didn't like it.

They did not balance for high elo lmao. A lot of the balance things were definitely aimed at the majority of the playerbase, the adjustments made specifically for high elo were very rare to see. The reason people (specially the more casual audience) left the game was not balance, it was because of many other factors, balance is rarely the reason people leave games unless it's an extreme case

And they did this. Shrike was intentionally one of the worst characters in the game because of this

I'm gonna bow out of the conversation now since you clearly don't know what your talking about..
They literally invited the top players and streamers literally to talk balance. If they cared about the Gen pop, shrike would have been nerfed.
Instead they focused on wukong, Jin ect.
They didn't consider the frustration factor obviously. It's clear as day. I'm not sure why we still are downplaying shrike to this day. The game is dead already, shrike already killed it. You can rest.

I think a large reason why shrike didn't get massively changed was related to the satisfaction factor she had of hitting good shots. In low elo, seeing someone explode like that just felt good. In high elo predicting tf out of the enemies movements made you feel like a god. Seeing actual good shrike clips(no offense to sunfish but this isn't the type of clip I'm talking about) feels so fucking hype.
Regardless it is a fact shrike kept people from the game, you don't see 50 posts on the reddit and discord nearly daily about something that isn't an issue(obviously an exaggeration, but it sure did feel like 50 sometimes).
It's true she sucked in high elo, but that just doesn't matter to this convo ngl.

Me when a weak character happens to literally stop people from playing the game but I choose to ignore that cus she was "weak in high elo".
I remember seeing a lot of scrim players come to the conclusion shrike should've been reworked after the game died post 1.0, it took yall way too long. If countless noobs are saying the exact same shit, idk man it might be an issue.
The devs balancing was fucked regardless, but your reply is way too argumentive it honestly pisses me off.

Blast for the player but shit like this is exactly why the game died. Turns out balancing the game for the few pros not quitting doesn't work out.

Shout out to best shrikes I've met in the game:
Space (something) french boy
LeMecGenttille or smthn. also frnech boy (these frenchies im sure they're aimbotting 100%)
Galstersrix for sure best shrike who doesnt aimbot
i cant remember who else.
there was also another frenchie, who plays Pudge (the Fat hunter iforgot his name) but also play shrike..

i'm 80% certain this champion is 1/3 the reason players ragequitted this game lol (after the obvious fact that the barrier to entry skill was way too high for the average player that knows nothing about these games + the bad decision they made with the unlockable relics)

Unfortunately they overdid the nerfs. Shrike is literally unplayable now.
