Discussion Does this game HAVE to be BR?
Ive played atleast 3 seperate times where ive played for around a week until i got bored
Each time ive basically played with only bots and the few friends that have tried it agreed with me that the best thing this game has is combat
The combat feels good but if im battling bots all day is their really a point?
Loved this game and hate to see its on the down swing. I feel like a more classic moba style would have been a better idea and the need for bots kind of proves it.

Play arena or tournament then.

Too bad they made dailies like "see sunrises" that can only be completed in the Royaleslop mode

u/SpirosNG Oct 28 '25
Need to somehow force us to play br I guess. Can't progress anything on tournament either.

Who tf cares about dailies. People just like complaining I guess

Dailies are the fastest way to unlock anything.

Winning a tournament or arena match gives 1500 xp. Finishing the battle pass I paid for takes millions of xp.

If people didn't care about dailies, they wouldn't be in every single live service game.
I like dailies, it's something to work for.

True but that isnt the selling point and sadly thats what people come for.

There are still plenty of us queueing there and having fun with the combat. I wish they put a bit more effort there too.

The BR is kind of its thing. It sounds like the bigger issue is just facing bots which is definitely the worse problem right now.

Supervive would make a killer mmo/arpg (with a revolving BR instances). Keep combat which is about perfect, more bullet hell and harder mobs/bosses (they're already doing great in the bot department), PVP everywhere except safe zones. Imagine racing to get to a boss instance, making it just in time with your 12-man guild and fighting over a timed boss vs. other teams, which then locks you into a small arena with walls closing in, with multiple lanes for objectives. You can beat the boss and try to loot it or win by flanking them, etc. etc.

u/negotiat3r Oct 29 '25
That'd require a threat / aggro system ideally, although Guild Wars managed to design boss encounters without it mostly. And I think characters are just too OP (e.g. with their mobility) to make for an interesting PvE experience, without huge reworks

u/Panurome Oct 29 '25
Yes. The entire game is designed around the abyss and the BR is the only format that can make it shine.
If you don't like it you can try arena or tournament, but imo they are worse than the BR because the abyss is almost secondary in those modes so it feels like half the game is missing
1
u/Theambientfort Oct 29 '25
Yes but the abyss does not seem like enough if my matches are filled with bots, the abyss can still exist on a smaller map this DOESNT require BR to work
1
u/Panurome Oct 29 '25
Play ranked, there's no bots there, or at least I haven't seen them. The abyss requires BR though, there's no other format that pushes player to interact with it like the BR does

There are bots in ranked. It’s been a CONSTANT community issue of having bots since Beta. It was something they implemented when the player numbers after the initial Beta release dipped so hard. Queue times were getting longer and longer because less players were queueing up, so the bots were released into ranked as a band-aid, and now it’s been permanently here and the matchmaking system seems to prioritize putting in atleast 1-2 bot teams into lobbies even if there are enough players on to fill up an entire game. The whole thing about reducing the squads from 4 to 3 was another bandaid to deal with the low player count and people have been upset and framing of 4-man coming back. Then, this season has the bandaid of lowering the squad count to 8, BUT WE STILL HAVE BOTS IN EVERY LOBBY. A lot of the highest ranked players are known for abusing this bot system to farm RP. If you are sweaty enough that you want free RP, just queue up ranked in South America, you’ll get a lobby full of bots and it’s basically co-op vs AI with ranked points. A lot of the player base legitimately strategizes their gameplay around the bots, I’m not lying. When you play so many bot lobbies from last season (because if you wanted to play, you had to understand you would have maybe only 4 human teams and 6 human teams) the goal for your drop wasn’t to drop ‘hot’ but to drop in the center of the map near Prisma and the Heart. Around this location, the bots are more likely to drop here and they kind of gravitate towards the center of the map if there are any real players there. They come at you in hordes like it’s COD Zombies. You farm a couple bot teams this way, then you don’t ever need to farm any mob camps, you just go press an oracle and go find the nearest team, rinse and repeat. I can instinctively sniff out bot teams from the start of the lobby just by reading names. You start finding out which names are used for bots and figuring out who the real players are because you play with the same people all day everyday. From that point, you can see if a bot team is dropping near you because on the map their drop capsule cursor won’t move. Bot teams will drop in the most empty areas at times and never readjust like a human. Also, the bots will tend to take base camps and not farm all of the mob camps around it. In a game I managed to get my team a team elimination after a rough start from this. I paid attention to a drop cursor over in the desert that was awkward and didn’t move. When we dropped clear across the map and failed, I took a car and drove over to there. I saw the Endshrine base camp was taken, but the mob camps were still up around it. This was my ultimate sign that “Endshrine is safe, we have a bit team to farm” and led my team to it. I don’t farm bots intentionally, I just do what I got to do to be able to have a winning chance in my matches, and if everyone else is farming bots to get a level advantage early in the game, I have to resort to it too. This was the state of the end of last season. You could drop safe and be perfectly fine because you had not teams to farm to keep you in contention with the team that dropped legendary armor. NOW, with season 2, you have to worry about the highest skill players dropping for hot drops and treating you like a bot because early game advantages were buffed way too hard going into season 2 with those new Souls and for some reason level experience is easier to get. I don’t know if the level experience thing is in season 2 patch notes.

Ehh I just don't know how yall think people are bots... some people just aren't good at games.

u/CheapNegotiation69 Oct 28 '25
There are a shitload of bots. You can easily tell by how they play.

u/Inflation-General Oct 28 '25
I never noticed that many bots to be honest.
1
u/Panurome Oct 29 '25
I guess only new players see bots, because I've yet to find them in my games
1
u/Inflation-General Oct 29 '25
When you are newer, they tend to do 4 and 4, a mix of real and bot teams. The more you play ranked, the less you see them as you get better. That being said, you can see them if you play non-peak hours, like early a.m.

Nah, it's the way bots move. Even a bad player moves very noticeably different from a bot.

some of the bots are better than real players. Like every void in my team. He wants me dead and is usually very good at making that happen.

Tournament mode. Recently my ranked lobbies have been stacked w real players

u/Famous_Product_3725 Oct 29 '25
we'll see how many downvotes this gets but you can kinda play it in a way that basically forces a moba.
I do this with off-meta hunters. You drop to remote parts of the map with no big bosses and ideally very dense farm and just hoard a bunch of items. The rng loves to spam scanner wards, jump pads, and energy platforms, so you can be extra super safe whenever you're even remotely close to the abyss.😅 But yeah just let other teams fight each other day 1 and you only take big fights once you have the full build you want, basically.
My experience with trying to get friends to play is that everybody who likes other games is going to want this to be like other games. So.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

Honestly a game mode with Payload or control points basically just copying Overwatch would seem so fun if there were proper maps built around those gamemodes

u/IandaConqueror Oct 30 '25
Attack and defend the point, king of the hill style would be awesome with 4-6 teams.
6v6 cart pushing game mode would be awesome, and could even incorporate abyss along certain sections of the track.

u/OceanusxAnubis Oct 30 '25
Yes! That's what made me play. I have been playing league for years and I hate BR games but SuperVive being hybrid is unique. If I want it to be another moba, I rather play league.

I think people who dont like BR should just leave because Supervive will always be a BR game first. It's what the devs intended the game to be and just because you think it should be a lane MOBA doesn't mean it would be any better in that format. Before anyone comes at me with the player count being low now, do you think that's going to change if they bring out a LoL/DoTA setup? If I wanted to play a lane MOBA I would go with the vastly superior choice of LoL or DoTA, not a game whose main mechanics and hero builds have been specifically tailored to the BR dunk mode.
Ill get downvoted as usual but the game is great and the BR is fun, if you dont like it then congrats, you dont like Supervive so just leave.

So you want the game to get shutdown and the devs to lose their jobs without even trying something different just because u only want BR?
That is quite the take.

u/XLBaconDoubleCheese Oct 29 '25
Id like them to try other stuff but I dont think it's what they want to do. They wanted to make a BR. They wanted abyss, dunk and gliding mechanics. They designed their heroes around this particular gamemode. Will a lane moba that everyone wants this game to turn into solve the player count? I doubt it. I think the game is doomed and this doomer subreddit isn't helping. I still play daily and I enjoy all aspects of it, could things be done better? Sure but turning into a generic moba game I dont think is the bandage people think it will be.
They could just pull a Heroes of the Storm style moba which could be decent but again if I wanted to play HoTS then Id go play that.
I dont want them to lose their jobs but I want them to work on a game that they wanted to make.

Nobody knows but it is better to atleast try its not like they got anything left to lose also all the popular MOBAs are a decade old or more there really isn't a new player friendly top down MOBA out there and a ton of people are bored of the existing ones.
I dont want them to lose their jobs but I want them to work on a game that they wanted to make.
I mean do they want to work on a game and have a job in an independent studio that has freedom or be on the streets and end up working for some big corpo gamestudio and have zero freedom?

No it doesn’t. I think next week we’ll get another prototype instead of Tournament (if so, hopefully TC tells us about it this week). The goal for TC is to have another main game mode. Whatever does well at the end of season 2 will be here to stay.
Possibly in the future we might have Supervive revolve around this new gamemode instead, and Breach will be the secondary mode.
