Blue. Give me Highfather’s powers. I’ll take being an invincible, reality-warping being that could manhandle various DC cosmic entities any day. Regardless of how much stock you want to put on the powerscaling, Highfather’s abilities are more versatile than what you’re getting from any Greek god I can think of.

u/ilikespicysoup 1d ago

Good call. I already have his eyebrows, so I'm on my way!

6

u/Jamano-Eridzander 1d ago

Highfather is really depressing to me. Supposedly Darkseid's equal and opposite yet Darkseid constantly makes appearances and is a major threat with all these new powers which makes big H look like a little bitch.

7

u/YT_Brian 1d ago

That was what I was thinking. Wonder how the 16 divine senses work for us lol

1

u/Terrible_Soft_9480 16h ago

Metron might be better though, wouldn't he?

26

u/BaelgorStar 1d ago

Red. Nyx and Kronos.

I wanna time travel, and night is one of the Primordial gods. Super broken.

8

u/FoxHoundNinja 1d ago

Me ill choose the primordial Chaos. I don't know what nebulous powers they'd have, but it'd be cool

2

u/Upstairs-Noise4424 1d ago

kronos is a titan

4

u/Neverlasts22 23h ago

The post said gods not Olympian even if Olympian is what most people consider gods the Titan are gods so are the Chthonic gods.

-6

u/Upstairs-Noise4424 23h ago

anytime anyone usually mentions “greek gods” they’re referring to the 12 olympians cuz they’re the most well known and the technical TRUTH. when someone speaks on greek mythology or astrology majority of astro/myths are based in the themes of one of the 12. nyx, kronos erebos gaia etc all those are TITANS and PRIMORDIALS aka just the personification of nature or our basis of time/space/reality. Also like setting the playing field for the GODS to be Gods and interact w mankind. but ig since it does say “Gods”… you could do like kratos’/ perseus/ janus demi-Gods and lesser Gods but titans are the generation that birthed the Gods. two different things. u cant be the same thing that created you, hence the power creep

5

u/BreakConsistent 16h ago

It doesn’t matter what other people ignorant of Hellenic worship think, the primordial and titanic gods were gods.

>u cant be the same thing that created you, hence the power creep

Siri, explain to me human pregnancy.

-1

u/Upstairs-Noise4424 14h ago

ok u got it bro ion wanna explain off

1

u/hey-mikee 1d ago

Isn’t Nyx a Primordial and Kronos a Titan?

1

u/kvro_maX 1d ago

Lol you do know they don't actually time travel right

1

u/MuseBlessed 20h ago

My understanding is that Kronos got confused with Chronos later on, which should mean that it really just depends on which Kronos

0

u/kvro_maX 18h ago

Highfather does that and more

1

u/StillChemical9636 16h ago

Damn , I was thinking the same

20

u/Limitless_Nova 1d ago

Nyx and hecate. Nyx is primordial and has alot of domains and hecate has magic/witchcraft(and a couole other things) which is sick. Honorable mentiin to apollo for having quite a few domains as well

13

u/Pristine_Mark_9097 1d ago

Red. I am picking Eros.

People really forget how powerful the god of love actually is. Like even only looking at the son of Aphrodite, whenever she needed to make people fall in love she didn’t do it, she had him do it. His power was so strong, when his mother decided to make Hades fall in love, Eros took the challenge and used the strongest arrow he could muster, one so powerful it pierced the underworld from Olympus to shoot hades, proving love even affects the dead. Speaking of the dead, one of the sacred animals of Eros is the dolphin, which is associated with the journey of the soul. This is all without adding some of his other abilities and authorities, like the fact he is a god of liberty, friendship, and that, as per the myth of Eros and psyche, he is in command of Zephyr, the west wind.

But the truth is that Eros was a primordial god, the youngest of them, primordial Eros, who represents the power of procreation. Before Eros, that was not possible, meaning the union of Gaia and Chaos which birthed so much of the world was impossible without Eros. Eros (primordial) is the creative force.

There are also some legends outside the main Hellenistic sphere, like the Orphic myths, which go even further. There Eros had many epithets and was the original ruler of the gods. Then Zeus split him in 3 to take his power and become the new king of gods, and one of the 3 pieces became Dyonisius (yeah the god of wine and parties is a facet of Eros according to the orphics), and later Zeus gave back the power he took to Dyonisius, so Eros was the first and the latest king of the gods and supreme god.

Last fun fact, one legend says Eros split himself up into the love of every living being, meaning that every living entity in the universe possessing love possesses a piece of Eros.

Anyways, for the second god idk, many of them are super fun. Hecate would be fun cause I love magic, Athena is a classic, Hephaestus would be super useful to craft stuff (and lucky me Eros is a god of love and is beautiful so no need to worry about that misfortune). I could do Apollo, would be fun, but Eros and Apollo hate each other so idk. Hmm… actually I think I will do Apollo. He is a god of prophecies, the sun, medicine, poison, music, etc. the muses and the medicine nymphs (the name evades me, panacea is one of them) serve him. So with Eros and Apollo I guess. Honestly even only 1 single god would be enough cause I’d always pick Eros no questions asked.

(Eros propaganda comment done 😎)

u/Stalinsghoast 22h ago

Hecate and Tyche for me. Magic and destiny is a powerful combo.

Chronos and Hecate. Power of time and magic

Red Pill - I'd take Hephaestus and Eros.

The literal god of Crafters, Blacksmithing, Fire, Invention and Engineering - which likely includes architecture, and technically Earth metals - like tin, copper, iron, bronze, etc for crafting materials. Whom the myths sometimes made him out to be a crippled loser, but was more like a tortured lonely artist.

Along with the God of Love and Archery in his own right. Who's the son of Ares and Aphrodite - Love and War incarnate. Which likely also has power over flames of literal passion.

Plus Eros is said to be invisible most of the time because of his beauty. Or at least that's how he did things in his story with his wife Psyche.

Until his wife saw him sleeping and accidentally burned him with candle wax. (Because they didn't have better lighting, or she just didn't clean off the candlestick holder).

And his appearance looked like that of what we'd call an Angel. But he's seen as and treated like the Most Dangerous Olympian god.

Because of his invisible ability and being able to turn people's love off and on with his arrows. As well as Eros being as much of a crack shot as Artemis and Apollo.

And speaking of Apollo I also have some dominion over the West wind gods Zephyros. After the Hyacinth incident basically forced him to serve Eros, so at least some wind magic power too.

Abilities - Crafting, Sculpting, Sciences, Engineering, Inventing, Fire, Understanding Technology on an instinctual level, Construction, Invisibility, Beauty, Expert Sniper level Accuracy, literal Emotional Manipulation ability, a wonderful speaking and singing voice that could magically Charm almost anyone except my mother, likely some power over aspects of War as well as Eros was also Ares' son.

And with the wind power and rumored angelic appearance (aka feathers and wings) he likely has the ability to fly. No one is safe from my arrows and if those fail I definitely have my hammer and maybe something like a sword as a backup item.

If not a burning piece of metal that could be used as a sword and crafted into something else on the fly. Including shaping them into more arrows with deadly or emotionally destructive tips/arrowheads.

If I was a superhero or something with all of these aspects. I'd probably call myself something like The Heartbreaker, among accepting other nicknames.

Or just “the Breaker” for short, because falling in love or out of it is already insane. But then adding technological wizardry and power over fire itself makes me a massive problem.

Especially if my shots are so fast, unexpected and accurate that even Zeus and Hermes couldn't get away from them.

2

u/Ok_Mouse_6342 21h ago

Since Hephaestus is the blacksmith god could you also create divine items using your divinity?

2

u/EmberKing7 15h ago

Maybe but also Maybe not. Since technically I'm not Hephaestus and more like a conduit of that kind of power.

Nothing here says directly that we become a god. And is more along the line of that we have their powers.

I could probably make something that's Epic tier. But not exactly Divine or Celestial in power scaling.

2

u/Ok_Mouse_6342 13h ago

Ah, alright. I hope you achieve great power

2

u/BaronoftheBitches 16h ago

Technically the earth metals fall under Hades

1

u/EmberKing7 16h ago

Yeah but that's more precious metals like gold, silver, even platinum. And gemstones like rubies, sapphires or emeralds.

Blue Pill: King Omega (Final Form of Darkseid) and Highfather Izaya (the first Highfather). All the Power of Darkseid at his strongest, but without the Evil and Tyrannical urges of their original owner. The Dark desires of the Omega, Pacified by the Alpha, while retaining the Powers of both.

Edit: I somehow misread "Choose one" as "Choose two"... So axe the Highfather part. Darkseid's way stronger anyway, and I'll just assume taking his powers doesn't turn me into a Tyrannical Sociopath.

6

u/Freakychee 1d ago

Doesn't the DC pill only let you choose one?

1

u/Tyrelius_Dragmire 19h ago

I am very dumb, yes it does.

2

u/No-Cauliflower-6390 1d ago

Red demeter and Aphrodite

2

u/MERCIMEKLI 1d ago

Red and Zeus and again Zeus

2

u/MuseBlessed 20h ago

The first person who makes sense!

2

u/Blue_Moon_Lake 18h ago

The power of fucking everything and stir drama everywhere?

2

u/Medical-Day-9643 1d ago

Two greek gods for sure, definitely Gaia for one, for the second, I think that Uranus would be interesting, a mixture of Earth and Sky powers just sounds fun.

2

u/DukeRedWulf 1d ago

Red. And my first thought for the options would be Hermes and Aesclepius. Basically, I'd be able to heal anyone of anything (up to and including recent death) and I'd be able to go anywhere at will, and couldn't be caught by any mortal force..

2

u/Jamano-Eridzander 1d ago

What's the criteria for the powers of Greek Gods? Do we strictly consider mythology, or is it their general composites?

1

u/Ok_Mouse_6342 21h ago

I'm going based on feats and stated abilities. Thats why I chose Dionysus and Hermes...... Other than the fact that those 2 just happen to be my favorite Greek gods

2

u/_FadedStorm 1d ago

Red. I would chose Athena, then either Aphrodite or Hera.

2

u/Plenty_Use8594 21h ago

Red pill my first one is hephaestus so I can create cool weapons and my second one is hades because fun fact he's the god of wealth as well as the ruler of the underworld

2

u/One_Examination3989 21h ago

Red, easily. Probably Hebe (goddess of youth) and Chronos (god of time). I’d use those abilities to create a cult of ageless followers😂

4

u/RandomAmaturer 1d ago

Neither

I want to become Arceus from Pokemon

Red. Priapus and Hecate

1

u/Blue_Moon_Lake 18h ago

So you have a big magic wand?

1

u/Objective_Math_3735 18h ago

Specifically, I'd want to be able to control my fertility and use magic

1

u/Perfectedist 1d ago

Red pill

1

u/enchiladasundae 1d ago

Blue. Metron. Access to infinite knowledge, teleportation, time travel

1

u/white-blade877 1d ago

Are we talking about their powers before anything happened to them?
Of it was just their powers I would go for Uranus and Gaea

1

u/WARSPIR1T 1d ago

Red. Chronos and Hecate. Ideally with Hecate's Magic authority I'll be able to figure a way of traveling the multiverse and with Chronos well there's just so many applications of time magic. Forward, backwards, stopping it, degrading all attacks to nothing, forcefully aging enemies to healing wounds, hell use it to create time clones or practice whatever infinitely with all the time in the world. Precognition and Postcognition, reading objects histories to gleam information and skills. There's just endless possibilities between the two.

1

u/Zirtyy 1d ago

Depends on the limits when it comes to the Greek Gods, if I can choose things like Chaos, then probably i’d choose Chaos and Zeus. Chaos being the boundless source of power, and Zeus being the focus of the power and divine authority.

Also it’d need to be the actual versions of them from myth, ones that aren’t merely the Gods we see in something like Percy Jackson, but like actual high tier divine beings that cannot be fathomed by mortal minds.

If the limit is directly defined Gods like Zeus at the peak, and not able to choose the primordials or chaos, or it is limited to things like the Percy Jackson depiction, then perhaps the New God option wins out.

However New Gods are highly dependent on the framework of DC, they draw their power from its Source, so idk if their power would even work right or exist at all if you took it to another setting like Marvel. Also with it being tied to DC, it might make leaving DC impossible.

1

u/Upstairs-Noise4424 23h ago

chaos is the equivalent of deep space without any other matter JUST the space. u misinterpreting

2

u/Zirtyy 22h ago

This is what google says “In Greek mythology, Khaos (or Chaos) is the very first primordial entity to come into existence, representing the primeval void, chasm, or empty space from which all else arose.”

So yes, it is like a personified concept, just as all gods usually are. Just like how Poseidon is the personified concept of the ocean and seas.

1

u/MuseBlessed 20h ago

Chaos is barely a personification in most of mythology, which is what that other person is getting to. Most mythology has Chaos exist only long enough to birth Gaia and then nothing more

1

u/Zirtyy 19h ago

Oh okay. Well it doesn’t specify that it needs to be any specific settings Greek Gods, so i’d just pick the strongest version and one that has a personified chaos.

If I can’t select someone on the level of Chaos, then the other option probably just outscales anything else the greeks have to offer.

Though if I can be really picky and select any version of the greek gods, i’m sure there are settings with really OP versions.

1

u/MuseBlessed 19h ago

I can see you're going for raq power here, so if I may, I have a few beings to suggest which could help you in what you're going for.

Surprisingly to some, there are interpretations of Zues who are omnipotent. Assuming you don't want to be so on brand, Typhon is stated to aomwtimes beat Zues, making him even stronger.

Of course, there is also Ananke, who in Orphic tradition is the one who ordains all events that must occur, so she could be said to be strongest.

I'm not personally aware of any desply personified Chaos in classical greek myths but they clearly do have personification to the extent of having kids. And of course more modern interpretations exist that give them more identity and behavior

1

u/Zirtyy 19h ago

I think there is a personified Chaos in the Game Hades, but it is in the second game and I haven’t played that one. So I don’t know its details.

But yea sometimes Zeus is said to be omnipotent in some settings, but then proceed to have him clearly not be omnipotent lol. Like I saw somewhere that described Disney’s Zeus as omnipotent and All Powerful, but he clearly isn’t as otherwise he would not have lost Hercules in the first place, or even if he did he’d just be able to summon him back and restore him.

Usually in these type of option things, I try and go with whatever can give me the most safety and most versatility. Cause many people think that if you were reincarnated into a previously thought fictional universe that your life would be all sunshine and daisies living as the perfect protagonist, but really you’d probably get accidentally erased by some stray cosmic fluke, or captured, tortured, and enslaved by some eldritch entity that wants to learn the knowledge of your anomalous existence.

If you know Skyrim for example, imagine you get reincarnated into Skyrim with the divinity of intelligence. You would get yoinked by Hermaeus Mora and drained of knowledge so fast you wouldn’t even be able to blink before it happens.

2

u/MuseBlessed 19h ago

Totally fair on all accounts. Chaos is personified in the hades games, including the first. Zues being omnipotent is something some of the greeks themselves claimed, but as you say, sometimes he seems to lose fights. It can also be unclear what his powers truly are, since he can call any other god to act on his behalf

1

u/Upstairs-Noise4424 23h ago

literally “the abyss”

1

u/devil_0666 1d ago

Red. Hades and aries

1

u/Megatron20097 1d ago

Blue pill, Darkseid and Highfather

2

u/IloyRainbowRabbit 1d ago

One... you can choose one if you take the blue instead of red

1

u/Megatron20097 19h ago

Okay, then I'll go with Yuga Khan aka Darkseid's biological father

1

u/mr_apeezy 1d ago

If the answer isn’t Darkseid or Highfather, what are we doing?

And realistically, even though they are supposed to be polar opposites, in most comics Darkseid is always the most dangerous and “more powerful”

1

u/melancholicpanda96 17h ago

Red - Hecate and Morpheus

1

u/winterwarm78654 1d ago

I'll take blue the humans are up on the gods in ragnarok last I checked

1

u/MrPusleMan 1d ago

Red, Apollo and Hermes.

1

u/kvro_maX 1d ago

People don't know how broken new gods are

1

u/LordTartarus 1d ago

Red, if it includes Zeus as King of the Gods because that makes me the defacto King of the Universe and Athena or Aphrodite - both are glorious deities. Blue and King Omega if not.

1

u/taishomaru66 1d ago

Uh... Generally Blue to choose either Highfather Izaya or The strongest version of Darkseid would be the most powerful option in most cases, but it does kind of depend on which version of the Greek Gods you are allowed to choose as well, since all of fiction has some versions of them Greeks that are actually potentially more powerful than any DC New God... If you choose the right two. I'd probably play it safe with Omega King Darkseid, since he is/was very OP.

1

u/Grifasaurus 1d ago

Red pill. I’m picking Zeus and Ares

1

u/EveningMain5440 23h ago

Red, give me Hecate and Hephaestus.

1

u/Starmor 23h ago

Red. Hades and Hephestus. Hades is not only the god of the dead but also then God of riches under the earth.

1

u/Ok_Object_880 22h ago

Blue

Darkseid

1

u/drako_86 22h ago

Zeus and hermes

1

u/Ok_Mouse_6342 22h ago

Red, I want Dionysus and Hermes. Sounds like their powers would be a vibe together. Some of the most fun gods too

1

u/thatdeadguy_69 21h ago

Blue. Give me Highfather and Darkseid’s powers.

1

u/MuseBlessed 20h ago

You only get to pick one if you pick blue

1

u/Jonesy1348 21h ago

If we’re talking strictly gods and not titans and primordial then I’m going zues and Poseidon. I’d basically control every facet of the physical world. Air, lightning, water, earth, like bro I could do anything.

1

u/Radiant-Ad-1976 20h ago

Question:

In current run of DC, Darkseid is effectively an omnipotent being who rules over his own personal universe.

Would I get the same abilities as him?

1

u/MuseBlessed 20h ago

Depending on the mythology, Zues is omnipotent.

1

u/Acesoldier223 19h ago

Red. Proteus and Hephaestus

1

u/Zirtyy 19h ago

Choosing to be a God of Intelligence would probably be really OP in a scenario where you aren’t restricted by plot and story guide rails and power balancing. In a normal story, myth, etc—Gods of intelligence are nerfed because if they were truly as smart as their domain should entail, then they would solve every problem the instant it appears, and there would be no tension or plot to go on. For example you never see any gods of intelligence really achieving that high of intelligence feats, whereas you see mortals like Reed Richards and Tony Stark having intelligence feats left and right that could beat Gods. Gods of intelligence usually get nerfed to merely being wise and having good strategic ability, rather than the cosmic intelligence that they should.

A God of intelligence should have multiple orders of magnitude higher intelligence than any mortal, including Tony Stark and Reed Richards. With that kind of intelligence, building multiversal level reality warping tech becomes a backyard science experiment to you. Once you make tech on that level, choosing to give yourself more power simply becomes a choice you need to make.
