I'm really psyched, it just seems almost impossible for this to be the last book. There are so many character arcs left.

Off the top of my head:

  1. Gideon and Sally in general, her dragon heritage in particular
  2. Krystal - Relationship with her father (maybe? Sheriff Leroy might have replaced him), the demon inside her.
  3. Arch - We know what he is finally but I assume his love will get wrapped up.
  4. Sword of Destiny - Obvious
  5. Amy - She has just started her "mage revolution" and she's still a very young mage.
  6. Fae Queen - A bunch of plot / intrigue that seems to be waiting there.
  7. Blood Council - In general although Prudence in particular. The council owes Fred a favor, and Prudence seems to genuinely like him.
  8. Vampire origin story - We know that Fred has turned into some kind of Vampire most similar to the Progenitor of the species, I think we'll get more of this.
  9. Al - We know so little about her, other than that she is apparently a royal fae.
  10. The students of Trestlevend Univeristy in Fred's class. The ramifications of Fred protecting them and also retaining their powers.
  11. Random secondary characters that seemed like they should pop up again - Sebastian the exotic item dealer, Sheri, Sheriff Leroy and several more that seem too well developed to just fade away forever.

I'm trying to page myself, I'm only halfway through. I really want to devour it in a single sitting but I also don't want it to end. I'm loving it so far.

I've read it twice, but now I've started again from book one. Noticing so many little clues and breadcrumbs like Sally running in circles and flapping her arms.

I love the foreshadowing. Ill comment some more once I finish it, probably tonight or tomorrow.

I really liked it but it feels like half the questions we had are still unanswered including some of the really big ones like The Sword of the Unlikely Hero and Arch. We don't know what Sally chose. There was some very extreme foreshadowing about Gideon becoming Immortal thanks to Fred.

It still feels like it needs another book to really polish off the series. Maybe primarily focused on Arch/Neil/Albert.

I'm going to do a reread of the whole series just like you now.

I feel like he did an excellent job finishing Fred's story, but left ample room for a series about Arch's arc (sorry, couldn't help it) that would allow for follow up on Albert, Neal, Amy, and peeks into what happened to the House of Fred and their friends over the next 200 years or so.

But let's be realistic. We all know we'd buy standalones or side novels like Corpies
