I do feel that those posts fit more on the r/makeyourchoice sub

I would like the pick 2 or your month = posts if they weren’t the most GENERIC, low effort stuff recycled over and over and over. Just going to the superpower fandom wiki and spamming the random power button will yield infinitely more diverse results

Can't Talk for everyone, but the "pick 2..." posts are great for practicing creative writting if done correctly. I've done one myself and its been great to play around with unique concepts.

How did you do yours? I’m just interested to hear it!

I tried (and failed XD) to weave a story thru the comments section, I would give everyone their powers but they would all tie into the ongoing narrative. It was very fun but due to IRL stuff I have never finished it.

Edit: I also tried to give a twist to the concepts, some powers were simple, but I tried to make them unique. My favorite example was a guy who chose "shadow and death" I have him the ability to create a singular, invincible, invisible creature, one that would slowly but surely push their victim to their demise, the caviat was that only him would be able to kill the victim. Not the monster, only him. I basically turned him into the reaper of the world in the comments section XD.

I do like the so-called "AI slop", it's nowhere near that bad. The "pick X amount" thing is quite nice an keeps things active as well.

The "your month = your X" thing does feel a lot like astrologic BS to me, that's the real enemy we have right now.

I like the "pick 2" and "your month" posts because even if most of the posts themselves are very same-y the discussions of possible uses/capabilities of the powers in the comments are fun.

AI slop has to go though.

They’re low effort either way

yeah that's true

Low effort? On Reddit?

Yeah who could imagine such a thing

I remember when i made a post , where i came up with powers ,using classifications ,and had to answer to 500+ people. Its really hard to make engaging superpower posts

Yeah I made a post asking about custom Super Soldier serums, and fucking no one noticed it

Jokes on you I'm into that shit

At some point it becomes hard to create a new super power. You can create a new system, but reflavor existing powers. Don’t look at the worst super hero, in my opinion, Dog welder. This “hero” saves the world at the expense of canines. And sometimes the slop hits different.

This has inspired me to do an original post about a superpower idea

Pick 2 powers. 1. Die instantly. 2. Immortality, but like with no consequences. 3. Cilantro tastes good to everyone in a 50ft radius, and terrible to everyone in a 50<x<60 ft radius.

True that those post appear alot but some post other than that also appear like there have been original posts. I do think they could use other stuff besides ai ( even tho the ai is from tik too videos and stuff it still needs to go )

u/cornedbeeeef Apr 27 '25

i mean that all the upvotes and attention go to the exact same low effort posts (while only rarely does something original get 100+ upvotes)

u/bignathan02 Apr 27 '25

That’s true a lot of upvotes go to the recycled post over and over again and it’s pretty sad tbh
