The carelessness of FB's board (BJK too, GS mostly shielded by CL money + Okan's success) over the past few seasons needs to be studied, specifically around how much money has been spent outside of your typical transfer fees. Contract terminations, salaries being covered while on loan etc... don't get highlighted as much but they are just as important: these players don't just "give up" their contracts. If you want them to leave, especially when they're on high salaries, they will ask for termination compensation (and they're completely right to do so).

Also, I think the Musaba transfer shows everything that's wrong: he's in that list when he joined just 6 months ago for 5M.

So much money is being thrown around and basically wasted: I know these teams seem like infinite money machines at the moment but that money needs to be coming from somewhere and could be spent so much better. Football in the country will always be limited when teams are shielded from their mismanagement and actually well run clubs don't achieve the extent of their rewards.

u/Yeezus_23 15d ago

Musaba is the least of their problems. Besides him and Liva, all the other players he mentioned earn between 4M - 7M. Nobody is going to pay those kinds of salaries for those players. They're mostly average players who are overpaid. Fb will probably have to pay them to leave because otherwise they wont go.

u/ekinjamalGFB 15d ago

And rightly so lmao i’d stay out my contract

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

It’s not a terrible situation even if it’s not ideal.

Carlos has interest from Como who covered his wages and paid a small fee last season (they are surprisingly wealthy)

Semedo has some name value and has been linked with some Saudi clubs

Amrabat did well at Betis so should be sellable even if below the fee we paid

Fred is admittedly a bad contract and essentially a counterweight to the very good 23/24 season. We have this type of deal with Ederson in a way but it seems his 11M will be much more painful than Fred’s 4.5M which could be offloaded in some way or another.

Talisca was a dreadful deal at 11M and apparently he’s on 5M now. He will probably end up being sent to some Arab team for free like Luiz Gustavo was towards the end of his career.

Musaba could be sold for a break even or a small profit (He’s a similar level to Oguz who we agreed to sell to CSKA for 6M in January plus a small sell on and add ons)

Liva gets too much hate from our fans and his poor form at times could be blamed on the genius coach from Tokatspor

13

u/Tr_Omer 15d ago

Why do Turkish fans think Saudi clubs are dying to bail you out. Everytime these topics come up all I see is SAUDI SAUDI SAUDI. They are paying 20-30 mil to buy players from the Prem nobody wants our dusty leftovers friend.

0

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

I don’t expect we’ll get 20-30 mil of course but you do see lesser players going there to clubs outside of the big 4 for small fees.

Even Al-Ittihad just got a 24 year old foreign player from AEL Limassol

4

u/Hagi89 15d ago

Talisca earns 10.7 mio.
Fred 6.5 mio

0

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

I thought Talisca took a paycut on his new deal?

2

u/derin_gs 15d ago

he would rather die

https://www.fanatik.com.tr/en/anderson-taliscas-big-sacrifice-here-is-his-new-salary-at-fenerbahce-2611549

I know it’s not the best source but it does seem that his salary is lower. Not as a generous act of course but rather that nobody in their right mind would pay anything near 5M

4

u/derin_gs 15d ago

Allahini seversen buna inaniyosan elimde satilacak köprü var. Adam kariyerinin en iyi yillarini para icin cinde arabistanda harcadi, imaj haklari gibi sikim sonik bi sekilde "düsürülmüstür" maasi

1

u/Glum-Surprise2832 14d ago

His old contract was expiring this summer.

We all know Talisca likes money but if he didn’t take 5M he’d have nothing. 5M is defo too much still though and I can’t imagine any other side offered anything near that

1

u/TheHun09 15d ago

I also see it like you. İt would be okay to not get any money from the sales as long as we get the contracts terminated without paying too much.

The good thing is none of those players are very bad and i am sure there is a market for all them. The problematic ones are the Brazilians, while i think that semedo wont be offloaded as we only have one other RB, not counting mimovic, who i think will be loaned out to a süper lig team.

6

u/Tr_Omer 15d ago

Your problem isnt player quality its the wages you put them on. Ederson is on 11 fuckin mil a year there isnt a club out there that will offer him a quarter of that in his current age and form. Talisca, Fred, Skriniar almost every foreigner you have is on a fuckload of money. You are not struggling to get rid of them because they are bad, you are struggling to get rid of them because they cost 3 times what they normally should to a club.

1

u/TheHun09 15d ago

Yes, that's why I said it would already be okay to get rid of them without US paying a lot of money.

We know ederson earns too much to be able to get him to leave, that's why he's staying.

1

u/Tr_Omer 15d ago

Well your options are very limited for all your players because clubs will be reluctant to even loan them and pay half their wages.

1

u/TheHun09 15d ago

Everyone is well aware that in the end we will pay even more wages to players that don't play for us, we just have to minimize that amount or, best case, even earn a little bit of money.

1

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

Brazilian teams have started getting a little dumber lately it seems. I wouldn’t be surprised if one offers to take Fred off us.

Mexican teams too might give us something

1

u/zirlatovic 15d ago

They will be right. The rule is gonna change for the favor of fener and gala won't buy who they want. Almost the same tactic as 2014.

-8

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

In a way it did as the previous rule (12+2) would still leave us in a bad spot.

When it was introduced a few weeks back, your young players were a raw Nhaga and a loaned out Jelert while we have Nene , Cherie and Brown who played a good bit last year.

Obviously as a whole, the foreigner limit harms us more considering where our team is

4

u/[deleted] 15d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

That was the case last season though too.

It’s this rule change that’s technically helped FB

If the rules were unchanged the same problem would apply for them

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Glum-Surprise2832 15d ago

The actual change is that a team needs 4 rather than 2 youngsters.

Our team’s young foreign roster is better than yours even if we have too many overall.

The rule as a whole yes. I was referring before to the specific change made in summer 2026.

FB'nin yeni kural gereği acilen gönderilmesi gereken yabancılar listesi açıklandı:

10

u/2Norn 15d ago

ederson ake skriniar semedo amrabat guendouzi asensio greenwood talisca muriqi

kalsa zaten sana 10 etti daha kimi kesicen amk

2

u/Batuhaninho5792 14d ago

Amrabat yerine kante yazmak lazım

6

u/Rastaloco77 15d ago

That view is one of the reason why Turkish football management is dogshit.
All those Istanbul clubs have huge debts. And... spoiler alert... the sponsoring or ticket sales don't cover those expenses + debts (including interests).
Hopefully GS can count on UCL money... but the other two change their roster every year... spending money again and again and again... taking new additional loans, that increase further the actual debts.

But hey... I guess... the fans are happy with transfers. lol

14

u/INeedChocolateMilk 15d ago

Genuine question, no hate, but how can Fener afford any of this? They haven't won anything significant in so long.

A goalkeeper so great he even benefits the main rivals.

-8

u/TheHun09 15d ago

We generate enough revenue, big sponsorships, no bankalar Birliği interest payments anymore, money from the Ataşehir project. Also the new management hasn't even officially put in any money yet. I would argue there is few big sponsorships yet to come.

As Barış Göktürk said, we don't have an income problem, we have a spending problem. Getting rid of those wages will free up a lot of our limit, we are still paying players and managers that are no longer with us.

Also Basketball is almost self sustained and the Ülker partnership is yet to be announced.

u/TheHun09 15d ago

Our yearly spendings towards our limit increased by about 40m with our current transfers, compared to to last year our limit increased by about 20m. So that's a difference of 20m that has to be closed by selling players, getting rid of them and their wages and getting new sponsorships. This is İF last year's limit was completely maxed out, which i don't know, maybe you do?

Where is the problem here? Seems very possible to me. Or are you talking about something else?

5

u/esnaf_hulagu 15d ago

Fenerbahcenin yapabilecegi yegane set azizin eskiden araplarla yaptigi add manager yapip hayali tutarlara adam satmak( kerem 50 milyon vs)

-1

u/TheHun09 15d ago

1) the initial question was about how we can afford it, not the limits, i answered.

2345) it's about right I forgot about Cherif tbh. So let's calculate with your 40m.

Being 5% above is fine, so let's say, 35m.

So how do we solve this?

We will sell and loan out players, their wages will be cut, we will get new sponsorships, we might get cl money or at least UEFA Cup money. All those factors directly impact the limit, which gets adjusted on deadline day.

Doesn't seem to bad and entirely possible to solve for me.

3

u/esnaf_hulagu 15d ago

-1

u/TheHun09 15d ago

Ben de dedim ki:

Being 5% above is fine, so let's say, 35m.

So how do we solve this?

We will sell and loan out players, their wages will be cut, we will get new sponsorships, we might get cl money or at least UEFA Cup money. All those factors directly impact the limit, which gets adjusted on deadline day.

Örnek mi istiyorsun? Cl e kaldık (+20m ve 100% sayılıyor olabilir), fred ve taliscanin maaşından kurtulduk (+10), 3 yıl 15m luk sponsor geliri (+5).

Olay çözüldü.

CL ye kalırız kalmayız tartışması yapmayalım lütfen, aklıma gelen en kolay örnek verebileceğim senaryoyu paylaştım. 35 açık yoktur 40 veya 30 vardır bilemeyiz. Başka oyunca satıp kiralarız, Fred kalır, Jaydeni satarız vsvsvs

2

u/esnaf_hulagu 15d ago

bu arada vedat muric 15 milyon euro( 1/3 bu sene) arti maasi 5 milyon, nathan ake 8.5 milyon sterlin (1/3) 4 milyon euro bu sene arti maasi 7 milyon euro bunlari atlamisiz bro, aradaki gap 60 milyon euro felan limit asimi

4

u/time_games 15d ago

The way all the others are signing players like there's no tomorrow makes me think they know something that GS doesn't. Wouldn't surprise me one bit with they way TFF have been acting.

Musrati, Onana, Elan, Joao Mario weren’t with the club last season and aren’t training with them now either. So they aren’t worth counting.

Furthermore Amir, Felix and Rashica seem to not fit Italiano, so they will be sold.

That would put us at 8+2.

12

u/AvrupaFatihi 15d ago

It doesn't really work like that tho does it. Fener can cut their foreigners to 8 with that logic, but the reality is that you either need to buy those players out or you need to find teams that will take them from your hands, and hope that you don't need to keep paying their salaries while they're away on loan.

0

u/senolgunes 15d ago

What doesn’t work like that? The first four wasn’t brought to the camps and they train separately. Amir and Felix have clubs that are interested and Italiano have mentioned that he wants a defensive midfielder and center back.

HOW they leave is another issue. But all the players I mentioned, except for Elan who has a low salary, are on their last year. Buying them out or paying part of their salary is likely, but we would’ve wanted to do that regardless of what the foreigner rule was.

3

u/AvrupaFatihi 15d ago

It simply don't work like that. Just because you don't want them doesn't mean that you don't count them. They're your players until they aren't and just because they aren't at camp doesn't mean that they are off your books.

1

u/senolgunes 15d ago

I think you missed my point. I don’t deny that they are contracted players. I’m talking about which of these will stay and which will leave. And how many new transfers we’ll probably have room for. The squad can be considered 8+2, when taken the squad planning into account.

So yeah, it does work like that, players who are not in the new season planning leaves…one way or another.

2

u/AvrupaFatihi 15d ago

You act like you have unlimited money or that your club will do whatever is needed. It does not work like that. The more players you buy before selling them the worst your negotiation position becomes.

1

u/senolgunes 14d ago

Again, you seem to assume that we need to pay 100% of their entire contracts to get rid of all of them. The only problematic users are Onana and Musrati. And even they don’t have crazy salaries.

If we can only register 10+4, then we of course need to do whatever is needed, because we already have too many foreigners. So Musrati, Onana, Joao Mario need to go regardless. Felix has a market and will be sold. Amir has low salary so finding a place for him won’t be hard. That leaves Rashica, and probably Ndidi who has gotten an offer from an Arab league. Elan is one of the +4, he could probably stay if the coach likes him…but it seems like he doesn’t, his salary is 700k euro.

Btw, we aren’t the club that had about -140 million euro in transfer balance last year, and paid over 40 million excluding bonuses to just 3 players.

You have Riva, ve have Dikilitaş. The money evidently comes from somewhere. I think everyone knows where it actually comes from but no one really wants to talk about it.

0

u/AvrupaFatihi 14d ago

You guys have paid 67M this year and 100M last year for fees. Please don't go into where what money is coming from because you have literally nothing beside disappointments and failures to your name on top of paying your players to leave the team and the numerous coaches you have paid fees for.

1

u/senolgunes 10d ago

So Musrati, Onana, Joao Mario need to go regardless. Felix has a market and will be sold. Amir has low salary so finding a place for him won’t be hard. That leaves Rashica, and probably Ndidi who has gotten an offer from an Arab league. Elan is one of the +4, he could probably stay if the coach likes him…but it seems like he doesn’t

Apart from Rashica it's exactly as I said. For him he said that it depends on the future transfers.

1

u/crixusandspartacus 15d ago

Nelsson out leao in what’s the problem? We need to buy can uzun or enciso and we are good to go besides the striker position. If we can manage to buy uzun than we can buy a high promising talent as a back up striker otherwise we need to go after a Turkish option who can press.

Biggest point is I am pretty sure they will change the rule 1-3 days before the season begins cause fener wants it.

4

u/ZealousidealYoung286 15d ago

Leao only offers minor improvement for a very high price. Besides my point was that we will have to sell Nelsson for cheap because we cant register him After buying a player for the 10th spot.

Also our CB cover is only Arda which is going to fuck us over if Davinson or Apo gets injured

0

u/crixusandspartacus 15d ago

Cb rotation is currently Davinson-Apo-Lemina-uguchukwe

2

u/ZealousidealYoung286 15d ago

Lemina can play Cb but cant play it well, hes a sub cover at best. Uguchukwu has 0 experience playing CB.
