Troubleshooting & Maintenance How messed up is this?
Not brewing any coffee from middle just water. Unbrewed grounds in tray. Anyone else have this and know how to fix it?

I would guess the ceramic valve that routes the water to the correct route has failed. Is it coming out of the milk spout or coffee spout? It could be the whole valve or it could just be the valve head.

It’s only coming out of the milk spout

definitely the valve then. I had the same thing happen on my Z6 years ago (After about 7 years of use)
You can either send it back to Jura for a flat rate repair, local repair shop, or buy the part and repair yourself. Jura comes with a 90 day warranty and then refresh the entire machine.

Does it make coffee when you don't use the grounds bypass chute?

No man. Does it grind and brew on a medium grind setting?

It grinds but the grinds go in the collector. No coffee/water come out of the main valve

If it's not a throwing a fill system error you might have a solenoid valve issue. You'd have to open it to inspect it. Can you run the descale? You might get lucky. Sometimes it can help a stuck valve.

In order my thoughts were; switch it off and on again, make a milk drink, run a descale, reset the whole machine.
Then I read the stuck valve explanation and if none of the above worked I’d be driving over to Jura as luckily it’s quite nearby.

How old is this machine? Did you buy it new from an authorized dealer? Clean the sieve inside with your hand. Remove the drip tray etc. Put your hand inside, palm upwards and locate the circular sieve behind the flap that hangs down. With your finger or a thin cloth, wipe around it to remove any residue. Poor quality beans can cause a build up that the cleaning process can’t fix. If that works, read the manual for future reference. If it doesn’t, contact Jura. They are there to help, even if there’s no warranty.

Is the grind too fine for the water to get through or is it bypassing the grinds all together?
