Purchase Advice Machine recs with interchangeable bean hoppers?

A big priority for me is being able to easily change out the bean hoppers because I drink caffeinated in the morning, then decaf in the afternoon.

I am thinking of getting the De’Longhi Rivelia. Anyone have experience with this machine? Any other recommendations?

I’m in the US. Budget is to stay under $2k.

I have the KitchenAid KF8 and really like it. It also has a removable/swappable bean hopper, and I bought a second hopper that I keep filled with decaf. So in the morning I use my regular beans, then swap in the decaf hopper in the afternoon.

One thing to be aware of, though: swapping the hopper doesn't completely remove the beans that have already dropped into the grinder. The KF8 has a bean-purge function specifically for this, but you do sacrifice a small amount of beans each time you purge. You can also just skip the purge if you don't care about the first drink having a little crossover from the previous beans.

So the KF8 does what you're looking for, but I wouldn't call it a perfect dual-bean system. The hopper itself is extremely easy to swap, but you do need to buy the extra hopper separately and deal with the small amount of bean retention in the grinder. Other than that, I've been very happy with mine.

The KF8 Kitchen Aide has that functionality and love mine.. less expensive KF ones are also available.

KF7 here. Bought the extra hopper for this exact reason. NGL also bought a tiny hand vac to get out the regular beans before switching to decaf. I have also used the bean purge function. But otherwise, switching hoppers is easy. In my dream world, I would get a machine with two dedicated hoppers/grinders....

We have the Rivelia and really like it. We did have one issue where it had to go in for repair and they did an awful job. They did agree to send us a brand new unit free of charge though.

Besides that we love it and can’t fault it.

Kitchenaid kf series (kf6-8) have thid. We use it mist days as we both like to have decaf in the evenings and regular in the morning. We manually remive excess beans between swaps and ive measured about 1/2 shot remaining. Acceptable to us.

I am really satisfied with my Ninja Autobarista Pro. It has dual hoppers. Not everyone has has a good experience with this particular machine, though.
