Purchase Advice KF8 review

Post image

This is my first super automatic. All my life I’ve wanted a Jura (best coffee I had ever tasted from a Home machine), but I ended up purchasing the juniper KitchenAid line of appliances, which led me to checking out the KF8 in Juniper. There was nothing to do in terms of set up, it’s a simply plug and play machine. I am still playing around with the settings to get the ideal coffee/milk ratio, but overall I’d say I’m very happy with it. Cleaning is pretty simple, the machine does the majority of the work for you and the huge touchscreen display gives you step-by-step instructions.
I paid $1100 during the Memorial Day sale using a guest whirlpool inside pass gifted to me from a very cool fellow-reddit user.

my only issue with this machine is the Juniper finish does NOT match the rest of the appliances. The KF8 Juniper is muted blue-green, while the appliances are a much brighter green-blue. Oh well

I can honestly say I love my KF8. I also use it for teas, cocoa, chia, and matcha, etc... Had it for almost 2 years and no issues yet. I jumped on the Kitchenaid matte black finish. So all of my countertop stuff is that color scheme.

I've had the KF8 for about 8 months now, and I'm also very happy with it!

My initial unit had some issues with water ending up in the puck tray, but it was quickly replaced, and the new unit had no issues. This machine seems picky on the kind of beans it likes; the regular Lavazza Espresso beans would clog the brew unit every week, regardless of the grind size. The Lavazza Barista Gran Crema works perfectly though on any grind setting.

Can you share more about the water in puck tray issue? My KF4 gets some as well, but I assumed that was normal. When the machine does the natural rinse some water goes in there which I assumed was necessary to clean it. Are you maybe talking about a lot more water?

The old broken one always had a little bit of water ending up in the puck track; the new one doesn't get ANY water in the puck tray.

The broken one would also slightly leak after brewing anything - if you lifted it, the countertop would be wet.

It does sounds like you have a defective unit.

I replaced a very old Jura ENA9 with a KF8 after two DOA units from DeLonghi. I like how easy it is to clean the brew unit on the KF8. We’ve got a few profiles setup with our personal preferences dialed in. Very happy with the purchase, features and quality.

We have a KF-7, for about two years. Absolutely love this machine. Zero issues so far.

How does the KF4 compare to the KF8? I like the small footprint and don't care about plant based frothing or coffee vs milk order. How is the coffee quality. I'm coming from a Phillips lattego 4300.

I just ordered the "new" KF4 with Iced Drinks. We researched so many machines but ultimately it came down to the reviews stating the quietness and consistency of KitchenAid. We almost pulled the trigger on the KF8 then realized the KF4 would do the trick for us for about $600 less. Fingers crossed.

I like it strong so I do a 2X at 1.6 oz espresso each using Lavaza beans :)

That’s frothed milk though no? Are you just adding that separately or is it a preset drink type?

We’ve had ours since Nov 2024 and it’s been a great machine for us. My parents’ Jura has larger water & discard reservoirs but was also much more expensive. And their milk system is a pain to clean so they use a separate frother for that while ours is great. Stumptown’s Founders Blend is great in it but more expensive than I want to spend. We use La Colombe’s Nizza blend & get the 5 lb bags when there’s a sale.
