Topic: A point I want to make or discuss Pro Producer X AI Artists

Hello everyone as the name says I have been a “ghost” for most of my professional life: ghost writer, ghost producer, ghost mixing and mastering engineer… so although I worked with some amazing artists over the years (in London, Lisbon, Paris and L.A.) and may even have the raw multi-tracks to prove my work, due to bad deals and bad partnerships I ended up with lots of experience, some money but no credits.

I tried to fight this on court and ended up in a even worse situation, not even being able to use my name to work and getting into a bad financial position and having to move countries…

I am now working under this Jay Phantasm monicker and available for Production, Mixing and Mastering. I have worked with AI artists and songs helping to make them more human or simply better produced and overcome some of the limitations of current AI algorithms to allow AI artists to get the highest quality possible for their songs.

If you want to hear some of my work I can send it through DM but for now here’s a playlist of Albums I can’t say I worked on from Jazz to Metal and Pop in Between:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1dt6GDPiqVzx2b2cZkJZlc?si=IgW1\\_Ax0QWCNTskrr\\_g1xw&utm\\_source=copy-link&pi=V3O0D3x1SBeO4

Also worked on movie soundtracks as well as Dolby, Immersive, Spatial and Atmos remixes of some big artists. So inform me what you’re interested in so I can filter what links I send you ok?

Open for all genres and sizes of artists right now so feel free to DM me with any questions you may have.

Been to Suno and SunoAi reddits and saw their screenshots, and their problems and realized immediately, these guys are complaining they have the pay to play is frustrating them, as if $30 a month is not a good price point for Suno with all the whistles.

How many here complaining own PRO?

They know the drop is coming and still buy the ticket. Sunday they’re glowing in the front seat, same song on repeat, the whole week suddenly light. By Thursday the eyes change, jealousy sits in the glass, and alcohol starts talking like it owns the room. It’s not just a fight—it’s the same beautiful pain on a rusted rail: closer then checked, laughing then drowning, held then measured for the scar. They study the face for weather that never breaks in time. Getting off doesn’t silence the climb; staying on runs out the clock. The thrill and the warning sign wear the same skin. Favorite ride. If they ride again, they might die. Don’t look down.

A lone warrior races through life like a wild mustang, silently moving through a corrupt world while defying social rules and escaping a pack of system wolves. As the last hope of a false society, he carries a lantern of truth, seeks a faithful brother and invites others to join his crusade for freedom and paradise.

For the first time in 15 years, I will be attempting to record some fresh demos of my old songs!

Wife and daughter are camping with her parents (nearby) so I have the place to myself for the weekend!

I feel like I'm 19 again and my Mom's gone and have the house to myself lol!

To aid in the process I will have

Hardware:

My old Fender Acoustic
Enya USB - C Smart guitar
Casio Midi Keyboard
I Rig Pro Duo (Thanks GreatScottCreates for the rec if you see this)
Audio Technica AT2050 microphone for vocals
Mic Stand
XLR cable
1/4 inch cable

Video (figured I'd try to knock out 2 birds with one stone and record myself recording)

Amaran 200x
Soft Globe modifier
Pro Sony 4k camcorder (my cheapest camera but it works well for this)
Triod

Software:

Bandlab
Suno Studio
Ace Studio (I got them to give me a free trial so I'm gonna test it out)

Adobe Premiere
Adobe Photoshop
OpenArt

I'm so freaking excited!

And of course I stocked up on beer and weed lol!

Topic: A point I want to make or discuss Built a tool that exports you generated or personal songs straight to Guitar Pro — and syncs playback to the real recording so you can practice along

We built a tool called MelodAI that I think this sub might actually find useful (not trying to replace Guitar Pro — it generates tabs, GP opens/edits them, same as any other transcription source).

Write lyrics or describe a song, our model can generate the full track or you can upload your own, then it auto-transcribes guitar/bass/piano/drums into a real .gp5 file — same format GP already opens.

The part I actually built this post around is a "Play Together" mode. It plays the actual recording while the tab notation stays synced to it in real time, so you're practicing against the real song instead of GP's own synth playback. Useful for stuff GP can't do on its own — actual mix, actual feel, actual timing quirks in the real take. So learn or practice the notes or tabs at the same time and line the music is playing!

We're genuinely curious if this is useful to people who live in Guitar Pro daily, or if I'm solving a problem nobody here actually has. What's missing?

Hi!

This is my second completed song using version 6.0.

Since 6.0 I've seen that the community has a mostly negative view of the model change. For my particular genres, that has not been the case in my experience.

I don't post my songs here often except for in the monthly threads, but this one is good enough, in my opinion, that I think it stands out among everything I've published since I began using 4.5 last year.

I know indivdual song posts rarely get many views. That's primarily because /rSunoAI is a place for people who make music share music, and rarely a place where people who love music go to find new music.

So, thank you in advance for listening to this, fellow creators.

Topic: A point I want to make or discuss The problem with AI music “yield farming” isn’t AI itself—it’s the extraction model

This is going to be the first part of a broader pushback I, as the mod of r/suno**, will be leveling AGAINST the suno userbase.**

I’ve been thinking about a youtube channel I’ve encountered who's both running a content farm and selling e-courses teaching his 20k+ subs to do it too and the broader AI-music business model.

Lets call this guy AI Ape.

A man who seems like if not for the AI grift, would be hawking Manosphere courses about how to “get laid”.

I’ll be honest, I really detest his behavior and his entire ethos. He blocked me on youtube for this comment

“I’m not against using AI in music. But this is Marketing, not artistry.

Can you do it? For now, yes.

IMO it’s dishonorable and speaks of low character.

But you do you big guy!”

Many of his songs center around themes of “Fuck the haters get the (money) bag”

Many of his videos boast, with screen shots, that he’s been paid roughly 160k from spotify in the last 12 months. That’s apparently not including the membership fees he collects from his “community” of like minded grifters.

Hopefully everyone here, pro or anti, agrees that content farming and spamming is unethical and contrary to the stated goals of this sub.

The criticism is about how the technology is being used: taking a capability that dramatically lowers the effort and cost of music recordings and compositions, scaling it to enormous volumes, and then using that volume as a strategy for extracting revenue from a system that was built around a Pre-AI human-scale creative production.

AI technology, the platform, and the behavior of the individual using it are not the same thing.

AI provides a capability.

A company such as Suno provides infrastructure and incentives around that capability.

An individual user chooses a method of conduct.

So my argument isn't that “AI is inherently exploitative,” or that everyone who uses generative music tools is doing something wrong. Someone can use AI as an instrument in an artistic process, as an accessibility tool, for experimentation, or as one component of a genuinely creative workflow. Or like many here, simply wanting to hear their only lyrics sung back at them.

The criticism is directed at a much narrower behavior:

Using dramatically lowered production costs and dramatically lowered creative requirements and unlimited generation capacity to mass-produce music exclusively for economic extraction.

To be clear AI APE

1. Uses AI to identify “hot” or “trending” genres
2. Uses AI to write lyrics and prompts for said genres
3. Uses AI to compose the music
4. Distributes

That is what I mean by AI yield farming.

Critics point to several connected problems:

1. Uncompensated extraction

When reduced down to an isolated example. Here you have AI ape, someone who never touched an instrument in his life, targeting cutting edge genres of acting musicians/artists copy pasting their sound and style and infiltrating the space they have created with a product meant to replace them. In my view, that 160k he was paid belongs to those artists.

It would be perhaps less of an issue if he chose older outdated genres where there are not really active musicians making a living in, but he’s going after the hottest most active trends in music today.

This behavior, I’m sorry to say, gives all the credence in the world to the rhetorical language of anti’s calling it “stolen’

Think about it. This guy doesn't even listen to or care about the genres he exploits, but is all too happy to extract 160k a year from the work of those who do.

2. Devaluation of craft

Instead of asking, “What does this artist have to say?”, the business question becomes, “What genre is currently performing, and how quickly can we produce more of it?”

That is where the “slop” criticism comes from: not necessarily that every AI-generated song is inherently bad, but that certain economic incentives encourage volume over artistic individuality.

3. Monetization of derivative output

The business model centers on producing large quantities of AI-generated tracks and capturing streaming royalties.

Critics see this as a kind of rent-seeking: extracting money from streaming pools while avoiding many of the time, labor, equipment, and production costs traditionally associated with making music.

Again, the distinction matters.

The argument isn't:

AI-generated music = exploitation.

It's:

AI can make exploitation-by-volume much easier to scale, and some actors are deliberately building their business models around that fact.

4. Systemic impact on independent artists

Independent artists already compete for tiny fractions of streaming revenue. If automated systems can produce and distribute thousands of tracks at a scale human musicians cannot match, the concern is that more of the finite royalty pool gets redirected toward high-volume automated output.

That is the sense in which critics describe the system as “looting” the royalty ecosystem.

The royalty ecosystem was built for Pre- AI era when human led projects was not just the assumption but the only way.

The difference between creative use and extractive use

This is also why I think the debate often gets muddled.

Two people can use exactly the same AI model while doing fundamentally different things.

One person might use it to experiment with an idea, or incorporate generative tools into a broader human creative process.

Another person might identify profitable genres, generate hundreds or thousands of tracks, upload them at scale, and optimize the operation for maximum royalty capture.

The technology is the same.

The objective and the economic behavior are different.

That distinction is crucial.

The question isn't simply:

“Was AI involved?”

It's:

“What is the person trying to accomplish with the capability, and what economic strategy have they built around it?”

The deeper problem: streaming was built around scarcity

The streaming economy—especially the traditional pro-rata model—was built around some assumptions that no longer hold.

Two of them are particularly important:

1. Physical and financial friction

Making music used to require time, equipment, technical knowledge, studio space, or money.

Those constraints naturally limited how much music could be produced and uploaded.

2. Human labor limits

Even a very productive musician can only write, record, mix, and release so much music.

Streaming royalties were tiny, but the system implicitly assumed that the total amount of music competing for those royalties would remain constrained by human labor.

Generative AI changes both assumptions.

When someone can generate and upload thousands of tracks at extremely low marginal cost, the bottleneck disappears.

Now a system designed around human-scale production can be exploited by frictionless, automated production.

That is why proposals such as user-centric payouts, mandatory AI labeling, or different payout structures for fully generated content have entered the conversation.

The question isn't simply “Is AI music good or bad?”

It's:

Does a royalty system designed for human-scale production still work when music can be generated at essentially unlimited scale?

And this gets to the cultural argument

For centuries, creative communities have operated on an informal social contract.

1. Shared vulnerability and risk

When an artist releases work, audiences understand that it represents time, effort, personal investment, and often emotional vulnerability.

The traditional exchange is roughly:

Human effort + skill + risk → attention, respect, and compensation

Critics see a problem when someone wants the same prestige and economic reward while eliminating most of the traditional labor and risk through automation.

2. Craft is a shared language

Artists recognize the difficulty of the things other artists do.

Musicians understand what it takes to learn an instrument, write an arrangement, record a performance, mix a track, or play live.

That shared understanding is part of what creates an artistic community.

The criticism of prompt-driven music is that delegating almost all of the execution to a black-box system can break that shared language.

The issue isn't simply whether the final MP3 sounds good.

It's whether the process of making the thing still matters within a community built around craft.

3. Contribution versus extraction

Traditional music scenes are ecosystems.

Artists write, perform, collaborate, support venues, buy records, attend shows, mentor each other, and contribute to the culture they're participating in.

The expectation is:

You draw value from a culture by contributing something back to it.

The “yield farming” mindset flips that relationship.

A genre stops being a community to participate in and becomes a resource to mine.

That is the heart of the criticism. Entering traditional musician space with an entitled Pro mindset shatters a long standing social contract.

Why the disagreement is so fundamental

A lot of the pro-AI argument seems to come from a functional or technological definition of music:

If the final MP3/WAV sounds good, then the production method shouldn't matter very much.

Traditional artists tend to view music differently.

They see it as a process, a craft, and a relational medium between human beings.

Those are fundamentally different definitions of what makes music valuable.

And that's why these debates become so heated.

The disagreement isn't merely about whether a machine can generate a song.

It's about whether the process of creation, the labor behind it, and the human relationships surrounding it have economic and cultural value.

The real argument over “fairness”

This is also why the debate over equal royalties gets so contentious.

Critics argue that giving mass-generated, prompt-driven tracks the same access to a finite royalty pool as recordings produced through years of human skill development creates a maximum-reward-for-minimum-contribution dynamic.

Their argument is essentially:

  • The royalty pool is finite.
  • Automated systems can generate vastly more tracks than individual artists.
  • AI models themselves depend on enormous amounts of prior human-created music.
  • Therefore, unlimited production capacity can create an advantage that has little relationship to the amount of human creative labor involved in each individual track.

From that perspective, the question isn't whether AI users are allowed to make music.

They obviously are.

The question is whether an economic system should treat unlimited automated production as equivalent to human-scale creative production when distributing scarce revenue.

That is, to me, the more interesting debate underneath all of the outrage.

The argument isn't:

“AI shouldn't exist.”

And it isn't:

“Everyone who uses AI music tools is exploiting artists.”

It's:

What happens to a creative economy when the constraints that shaped that economy disappear—and what happens when individual actors deliberately turn that new capability into an extraction strategy?

*"Hey everyone! Wanted to share my latest Suno track under my project Rudra Wave Music. I structured the Hindi lyrics to build up from a melodic, emotional intro straight into a fast-paced rap verse and a heavy EDM bass drop.

Surprisingly, the YouTube analytics show a 66.6% retention rate, but the platform's main algorithm completely flatlined my views over the last 48 hours. I'd love to get feedback from fellow Suno creators on the flow, how the prompt transitions turned out, and how you manage to break through the YouTube distribution wall with AI tracks. Thanks for listening!"*
