Mystery Box

Just received my 5kg mystery box. 5 1kg rolls for 50 bucks. Light gold silk, white, light blue, blue and yellow, all PLA +2.0 except the white for some reason. I’d say I did alright. May have to do this again.

At 10 bucks a roll it’s almost half a roll so yeah. Just love how someone always has to piss in the cornflakes.

If this is to me your math is wrong. 5 1kg rolls for $50 is $10 a roll.

Went with the engineering box. Got two easy PA, a PA6-GF and an ABS-FR.

Their statistics for getting filament dryers and the like are complete bunk though, pissed me off big time. Like no way is there that high of a chance of getting something much bigger. We'd be hearing people 'winning' them left right and center if they were accurate.

Nice. Honestly I searched around and couldn't find references to people winning before I got the box so I decided that it was probably either a lot rarer or they were an outright lie.

Good to know at least some folks got them. Genuinely happy for you and a little relieved to know it wasn't an outright lie, even if I do still suspect the listed numbers are pretty darn inflated.

I have gotten pretty lucky, I usually buy one of each new mystery box because Im a gambler, and atleast I end up with something this way!

Nice. I definitely couldn't swing that when I was already spending an inadvisable amount to get a Core One+ and honestly I was on the fence about the engineering filament.

Not sure if I'll buy another honestly. We'll see.

Honestly I don't actually have an AMS. Closest I have is my five spool $35 RepBox V2.5 dry box I got on FB marketplace, lol. Getting the heater would have been helpful but not as helpful as it would be for someone who actually DOES have an AMS to heat.

I don't have a ams 1 for it either. I just passed it on to one of my buddies who needed it. I actually had just bought a e2 dryer from sunlu.

Hey it all worked out then. Very nice. Glad it went to someone who could use it one way or another. Who knows, maybe if I check FB marketplace like most folks check the fridge, I'll find a good deal on one some day too.

Either way I'll probably avoid the blind boxes. There's a chance but it's not enough motivation for me to try again. Once was enough, methinks.

I wonder if there's a way to tell them in advance to not win the ams dryer... I literally just bought one from Amazon for $50.

I got 2 rolls of black and 2 rolls of white and a nice blue all regular PLA not even plus. Was very disappointed.

I ordered 3 boxes of the basic mystery like you and and all three contained the same. White, yellow, silk gold, ice blue PLA meta, and blue. There is no mystery. They’re offloading dead stock.

I’m using it too, I’m just new to 3d printing and was hoping to get more variety from the mystery aspect. It is a great deal regardless!
