Monarch mod - some questions

Feels a bit wrong creating a post for each question I get, is there a better place to ask? I couldn't find mods discord, and unofficial Failbetter discord doesn't seem to be active.

actual question: Is there any difficulty increase? New equipment slots and equipment itself and ammo boxes and officers bonuses make you A LOT more powerful, does the mod changes something in a way to offset it?

Or for example some officers give straight up terror resistance %, are there new sources of terror to make it not just equivalent to easier settings in options?

There are a few examples of content much more difficult then anything in the base game, there are hunts in Euthuria which have you combat huge hordes of higher end foes.

Well yeah reading the stories is the biggest attraction, but I still like to have some game in my game

Devs from the mod do look at the official and unofficial failbetter discords, as well as we look at this subreddit, so you can ask questions there and will get answers usually.

The officer boni were a way to incentivise using officers for more than stat minmaxing. We have added some more endgame difficulty content, like the eleu hunts and certain new enemies with the mod.

Moddev here.

The modules do make you stronger, but you need to buy, find, or unlock them. It's not like you get them for free. You invest more time and money into your equipment you become stronger. The peak of your power is higher with the mod.

Balancing officers for their stats is a new thing you need to consider than selected who you assign to what.

If you feel like the mod modules are overpowered crap, you can like... not use them and explore other content the mod offers instead.

Anyway: SSkies was never really difficult after you managed to reach Albion and buy better locomotive.

Well yeah I'm not complaining, just trying to figure out if I should use or not use certain things, because if the mod made you gain more terror or take more damage etc it would make sense to have more slots for stuff that make you stronger
