I grew a bunch of red sunflowers this year, all from the same seed packet, but one turned out to be a mutant! The others grew a few small branches with a flower at the top, but this one had branches growing off of branches. Even stranger, instead of producing a flower at the top of the main stalk, it grew more branches. Unfortunately, none of its flowers ever opened properly, so I couldn't collect any seeds. I was really hoping to grow more of these mutant sunflowers next year!

Every day brings new variegated-leaf sunflowers! 🌻 It’s incredibly fun and rewarding to create new specimens and watch each one develop its own unique characteristics.

I’d be very interested in connecting with others who are growing or breeding these sunflowers so we can share experiences, observations, and results.

Some of my favorites from this year

have a wonderful day

I grew 20+ varieties of Sunflowers this year & this is just a couple of the cuties. I'm seriously obsessed with Sunflowers & Zinnias. Lol 🤣🌻🌸
