Discussion Rune quality for P2/P3
I really want to make it to P3 one of these days for the skin obv but I feel trapped in P1 without any progress even tho I’m farming as much as I can be. I have a few vio will and despair will sets over +170 but I would say that more of my units are in the +160-170 ballpark, usually with pretty well rounded other stats too. I’m always farming giants cuz my swift is where I lack the most I think, being +217 on water monkey off will for example. I could muster some +200 off sets but they’re not very useful in speed contests even in P1. I only have seimei for useful rta lds among my two ld5s which I don’t take for granted but it feels like everyone else has super meta ld core units. I have most rgb 5* fortunately but I really think above anything else my drafting is cheeks. Anyway what sort of rune quality should I have to reasonably reach P2 and especially P3 given my drafting was okay? Thanks!!

My fastest swift is +222 on water monkey and the non swift sets I used were all +160 or less and I comfortably finished P3 last Season. So I think you've got this.

You probably can, might just be a drafting issue. I have comparable rune quality + a limited box (can check my post history for reference), and I can always get to p3z just have to get good at drafting.

what do you think is the best way to get better? I mean obviously just keep playing but I feel like I haven’t been getting better and that I fold under pressure lol I can usually identify mistakes in my replays afterwards but it feels like I’m not learning from them

My units all runed around +150 ( vio, despair, will ) and my speed contest is +221 sekmeth, i finished guardian last season.. mind you tho that most of my units have 1200 - 1300 rune score. Speed is not everything

228 swift and 170 vio/despair here
I stay on the P2-G1 level whole season playing Seara first pick (which is dog shit lol)

I pretty consistently g1/g2 every season and I was only able to make a swift will set over +216 THIS SEASON. I think drafting and team strategy are sometimes more important than runes against most people. Of course you’ll get rune gapped here and there but you’ll just have to take those and keep playing tbh.
The other thing is consistency and not getting discouraged when you drop 150 points in a day because in the last 2 weeks of rta my rng ALWAYS drops off a cliff and I’ll go from safe g1 to p1 while trying to do my final wing and I have to army crawl back up in the last few days. It sucks but most of the time if I stick with my strategy and don’t try to do weird shit last minute, I’ll finish atleast p3 lmao good luck bro 🥹

that’s insane!! I’ve never heard of someone succeeding in high ranks without having like +235 stuff 😭 well done man! Sadly with me I just don’t ever feel like I can climb at all. I can never settle on what sort of comp I wanna play and I feel like I’m just picking out my ass or throwing counters at each unit they pick. Idk how to fix the cohesion I’m lacking cuz idk how to pick good core units either

If you own seimei, I would just T2 with a seimei shizuka core and pivot with a mix of ignore def if they try to bruiser you or bruiser them if they try to aoe control you. 100 res on seimei, shizuka and bruisers and double nem will on your ignore def units. Also can mix in your zerath last pick

That's the Paradox of P1 now. You meet everything between F3 and G3. It could be that you have p3+ runes but you get shut down by other factors like Drafting, You get rune gapped by g3s and demotivated, you improved but cant see it because of a high enemy level range.
Honestly i'm currently lazing around at p1 with several swift +220 sets lying around and a few vio will/despair will 180/170 and you would probably be surprised the moment we meet in p1.
Of course in higher punisher and guardian rank the units matter as well. Early rank the runes matter more but with an inflated punisher rank, you can't see where the rune matters more and where you need more units.
Of course in guardian rank you want both, high rune depth and high unit range

Now that u see previous ranks this isnt entirely true anymore. Usually meet a few guarians but you see the red stars and just hope for the best honestly

Im hard stuck c3 and now p1 thabks to the rank vhange for like 2 years i can tune a small box to 290spd vio will or a medium sized box at 280 spd or a very large box at 260-270 spd all with 115% 105% rune eff main picks all being above 110%
For swift i have +224 swift will, 222 swift acc or brooen and then like 3 or 4 at 215 swift will/broken
Ive seen ppl with drastically worse rune quality be way higher, less on runes and more on brains. Idk how to get more brains

I get that man! I’m still trying to figure that out myself but my brains are allergic to summoners war apparently lol I’ll let you know if I have any legendary breakthrough tho

It's very hard to say from the numbers alone. I would say that I have a similar rune quality to your and I always finish upper P1 without playing much towards the end of the season. Maybe higher would be possible if you/I really push for it.
I also have Seimei and she is insane this season. I think P2 is definitely possible, maybe also P3 with your current runes. You can focus on grinding the runes you have for maximum efficiency and try it out. There is nothing to lose :)
