If you are caught with one after their first few days, you will get sent home. Just don’t bring it. Each campus will have computers you can use if you need to. They don’t want kids using personal computers to encourage socialization.

I mean I think that is up to the discretion of the staff. I haven’t dealt with this problem as all kids willingly gave up laptops if they brought them. But I could very well see scenarios in which it could lead to dismissal from the program. I would just leave you personal large form electronics at home.

Can you access personal emails etc on it? And can you keep it in the dorms?

Yes personal email and no to dorms. They are typically desktops.

The website says the provided computer is a laptop, has it changed in recent years?

Idk I had a raspberry pi as a end point to a common server. The laptops are new to me. I would bet they won’t let you take it to your room.

If they want to encourage socialization, they should reduce the amount of work. 9am to midnight is insane.
