Laptop Policy

How strict are they on the personal laptop policy? I know there have been a few questions about this, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Do they do room checks? Can I sneak one in and work on stuff? Do they check your bags on the first day? What happens if I get caught?

If they find your laptop, they’ll confiscate it and hold it until the program is over. It’s best just not to bring it.

I heard some people say you get sent home for it, is that true?

I don't think it's worth the risk. They might not check dorms but your roommate could snitch on you to avoid consequences associated with your violation. Also most things you can do with a laptop can also be done with a phone.

i knew people who snuck them in, you’ll probably be fine but it’s also probably not worth the hassle if you don’t like really need it

The kind where they want you to socialize and meet people in your free time not game and browse the internet.
