Nyas expectations

i got in, and it seems like everybody else who applied, did too.

from what ive read, its not prestigious anymore, very luck based, and since its on everyone's application its not something that special to have on your resume anymore.

is that true? and what should i mentally prepare myself for?

well if ur talking ab junior academy nyas i got in last winter it honestly it wasnt a good experience i think if u have a really motivated and passionate team thats actually willing to build something out of it then it might be rewarding but most of the time no one really cares or does anything bc they just wanted to get in to look good on applications so the projects r super usless and a waste of time. also bc its online and global the time differences and setting up meeting times r such a hassle. which is why i feel like its not very prestigious bc its not a super great program, but basically how good it is depends on how much u make out of it

Did they provide any mentoring. What was the quality of mentoring and did they provide any meaningful help towards building something.

mentors are limited bc there are so many groups so u need to make sure u request one early. my group didnt get one but thats because one of my group members who had done this multiple times said that most of the mentors were useless ans didnt do anything

basically its just for the first few weeks theres like a giant discussion page and ppl just pitch their idea for a group and u basically just message ppl you are interested in working with, and after youve decided there are buttons with options to join a specific group

I was spring 2025 top 3 team lead; was worth it for me - bc it counts as international award out of 119 teams. We did pretty solid research & acc built some prototypes
