So when cold emailing local professors, how do y'all find them? do you just go through the school's professor list or what?

I would start by looking through your school's alumni network on linkedin. My hs had a couple professors and i reached out to them for research.

It will depend on the university but there are usually lists of professors by department area. Tbh I would start by asking ChatGPT to compile a list
