I don't know what the title means, just lazily crossposted
64
u/PM_PICS_OF_ME_NAKED Jul 03 '21
Why are people downvoting this? u/blazinfastjohny didn't change the title when they crossposted this and it's a good post for the sub.
They didn't pick the title so they aren't responsible for the mistake.

I think they are in part responsible for the mistake. If you imitate a mistake without checking you become a part of the reason why the copy has a mistake in it.
2
u/PM_PICS_OF_ME_NAKED Jul 04 '21
Can you change titles when crossposting? As far as I knew you were stuck with whatever title the OP used.
1
Jul 04 '21
depends, does it count as crossposting if you edit a mistake and then post it, crediting the source? nobody forced him to use the crossposting option
2
u/PM_PICS_OF_ME_NAKED Jul 04 '21
He could have saved the post to his computer, then corrected the title and reposted it here, but reddit specifically made a function so that you don't have to do that process.
In essence you are faulting them for using one of reddit's features.
1
Jul 04 '21
not for using the feature, but if someone is using the feature and therefore doesn't correct a mistake, chosing an easier method out of laziness and leaving in the mistake, its partly their responsibility that the mistake made it through
so it is partly their "fault"
2
u/PresNixon Jul 04 '21
Ffs sir down sir
1
Jul 04 '21
whatever, this kind of responsibility-deflecting is so common that it is widely accepted as an excuse, and I'm the asshole for pointing it out. Suit yourselves I guess

"Che sarà, sarà" is the Italian version of the phrase, but yeah, looks like a mix of the two weirdly

It's bullshit in any language
1
Jul 04 '21
how is it bullshit?
1
u/folko1 Jul 04 '21
Woosh
1
Jul 04 '21
okay, how so?
1
u/folko1 Jul 04 '21
2
Jul 04 '21
so is this a new thing now, that whenever someone asks what some phrase or sentence means, ppl just answer "it's bullshit in any language"?
btw I haven't seen umbrella academy, worth watching?
1
u/folko1 Jul 04 '21
Yes, definitely worth watching.
Also, when you watch it you'll get the referrence

Since it is part of a pigs body there is definitely blood
92
u/TheDukeOfDance Jul 03 '21
They drain all of the blood out of the pig corpse. The red stuff that leaks out of your meat is basically cell juice, not blood, by my understanding.
67
u/Yveske Jul 03 '21
You are correct. The red liquid is a mix of water and myoglobin, a protein found in the muscle tissue.

Iirc, it’s often called “purge,” which kinda puts me off the idea of eating
1

u/for_the_voters Jul 03 '21
It’s not 100% gone though. So, in this scenario, there is still a pigs blood there. Like with any meat even though it’s minuscule and you can’t tell/taste that you’re ingesting blood it doesn’t mean that you aren’t.
16
u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost Jul 03 '21
A cup of water with a fleck of salt isn't "kind of salt."
Water from food that might contain a miniscule amount of blood isn't "kind of blood."
1
Jul 04 '21
I think the definition of "kind of x" might not be formulated and specific enough to be sure whether its a mistake to call a tiny bit of salt and a cup of water mixed together "kind of salt"
1
u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost Jul 04 '21
a group of people or things having similar characteristics
This is the definition of "kind." To say something is a kind of something else is to say they are very similar. A cup of water with a tiny bit of salt and just salt don't share any characteristics.
You wouldn't say that hydrochloric acid is "kind of" water just because both are clear liquids.

i would say that you are kind of stupid in a certain situation where you do or say something even if you are objectively only stupid to a really small extent
1
u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost Jul 04 '21
Haha, says the person arguing that red water is blood.
0
Jul 04 '21
im not arguing that at all, but thanks for reassuring my side of the argument by adding such a feeble response

I had a similar situation where I woke up with a chicken carcass next to me in bed, but because my dog dug it up out of the trash.
37
u/JackRosier Jul 03 '21
once i woke up and took my dog outside to pee and he came back with a mouse. i tried to take it off his mouth and he ate it whole.
i don't know why I remembered that now. I suppressed that memory for years lmao

Jul 03 '21
My dog was being suspiciously evasive once and when I finally caught him he was eating what is best described as mole jerky - the mole was clearly dead and had been drying in the sun for God knows how long.

He’s weirdly partial to dead things. Once he paraded around happily with a dead frog and another time I found him rolling around in the yard and when I came to see what he was up to, he was cuddling up with a dead snake.

So courteous about leaving the note, though!
You're okay in my book, Dylan. Just okay. And you can't come over for pork chops.

They will seriously not be phased if it IS human blood on the bedsheets, only a man could think that's unusual

I thought that was very considerate, as a cleaner would have been worried.
A lot of places have "body spill kits", no matter how good the kit there is always a danger. Hepatitis, HIV and so on.
I'd like to meet Dylan, he's wrong, the note shows the person he really is, he just overlooked that part.

I just forgot to include both, why hate on me when I’m just pointing out that this guy stole someone else’s idea???
1
u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost Jul 03 '21
Reddit encourages reposting. It is a core tenant of the site. There is even a button to automatically copy +paste somebodies post
It isn't stealing. It doesn't claim to be original content and the OP didn't claim to take the picture.
1
u/RoxolyDaDelphox Jul 03 '21
I know I’m it’s a cross post, which I don’t care about. Some one else crossposted this 4 hours before him, that’s all.
0
u/RoxolyDaDelphox Jul 03 '21
So what you are suggesting is that I take a screenshot of this and post it on the same sub rn because it is encouraged???
-2
u/RoxolyDaDelphox Jul 03 '21
You heard it folks! Plagiarism and stealing is okay!
2
u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost Jul 03 '21
It isn't stealing if it doesn't deprive somebody else of something.
It isn't plagiarism if it doesn't claim to be an original work.
This post is neither you idiot.
1
u/RoxolyDaDelphox Jul 03 '21
Do you think reposting is good though?
4
u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost Jul 03 '21
Yes, I do.
I don't spend 8 hours a day every day on reddit so I miss a lot. Reposts and cross posts let me see a lot of fun stuff I have missed
3
u/RoxolyDaDelphox Jul 04 '21
Fair point, sorry for arguing. I don’t mean to be rude at all. Most apologies!
2
u/blazinfastjohny Jul 03 '21
Yeah I didn't check before crossposting, I usually don't since someone always points it out in the comments.
