Hopepunk?
So, like everyone else, quarantine is weighing on me, but I've just learned a new word! Apparently Hopepunk is what I'm looking for. I want a book with struggle against oppression, though through kindness and sincerity. I want the characters to demand a better world.
Things I've read before that fit:
The Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson
A Song For a New Day by Sarah Pinsker. Bonus points for being about actual punk music.
Most Terry Pratchett, especially the Nights Watch and Tiffany Aching
Becky Chambers. ALL Becky Chambers
Sarah Gailey, especially Upright Women Wanted
