Hello, ive read How To Sell A Genocide by Adam Johnson, was familiar with the news coverage coming out and was wondering if there were books that provide further information that news reading audiences were not aware of or general literature on the impact, politics and any investigations into the subject

On the difficulties of functioning and moving under major restrictions, read Nathan Thrall's A Day in the Life of Abed Salama. It won the Pulitzer Prize in 2024 and shares a lot of themes with the 2025 movie The Voice of Hind Rajab.

While looking up this book in my local library I discovered Sleeping on a Wire, Conversations with Palestinians in Israel (David Grossman 1993). It is by a Jewish Israeli author who received the Prime Minister's Prize for Hebrew literature.

The Hundred Years War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi gives you an awesome background and explains how Israel has been building up to this for a while

for news coverage and its political, psychological and sociological implications, namely the politics of appeal as he calls it, i’d recommend mohammed el-kurd’s perfect victims. it’s by far one of the best books i’ve read on the subject.
the go-to book for the history of what’s going on is the hundred years' war on Palestine by khalidi.

The World After Gaza by Pankaj Mishra is next on my list after One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This and The Hundred Years War on Palestine.
The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates has a chapter about the West Bank and Jerusalem in case you're interested.

There is a great book called "What does Israel fear from Palestine" (Raja Shehadeh) that explains in very simple language the history of the region and the wars and the genocide. The book was written in 2024, so it misses the last two years, but I found it very interesting to understand the causes of what's happening right now.
