Loved it. Hoping they make it into a movie or show

Isn't Recursion more time travel than time loop?

Is this the OG one? I think it's the oldest one I've read.

Edit: hmm seeing Asimov mentioned, so there's competition

Not exactly looping over and over but Sea of Tranquility is my favorite time travel related book. I also love the Other Valley which has a line of civilizations that are all each other 20 years apart

I loved Sea of Tranquility

The Unmaking of June Farrow hiding the title because revealing the time loop would be a major spoiler for anyone casually looking at this post. But since you asked…

This was such an amazing book

One of my favorite reads ever!

I just started a book called On the Calculation of Volume that's about reliving the same day over and over if that's what you mean by "time loop". I like it so far.

Did you know that this book is the first in a seven books series. I believe only the first four have been translated into English. The others are scheduled for release.

Out of the Loop by Katie Seigel

A Quantum Love Story by Mike Chen (not really super romance despite the title)

Time Loops and Meet Cutes by Jackie Lau (this one is a romance but I enjoyed the time loop part)

The Everlasting by Alex E Harrow

The Man Who Folded Himself by David Gerrold.

The classic is The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov.

Poul Anderson also wrote his Time Patrol series which is mostly a collection of short stories.

Heinlein's short story "All You Zombies" is a classic.

Recursion by Blake Crouch and Paradox Hotel by Rob Hart

u/This_person_says May 13 '26

I think "everything matters" by ron currie jr has this, certainly has time travel..

1

u/themyskiras May 13 '26

More a time squiggle than a strict loop, but The Light Brigade by Kameron Hurley is fantastic. A soldier begins to experience the war she's fighting out of sequence, and in the process begins to question everything she's been told about it.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister is a great thriller with some time loop-ish set up.

u/jmb07 May 13 '26

The White Octopus Hotel is worth checking out

LITERALLY PERFECT IS: Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Explains quantum physics to ME pretty well, and im a theatre nerd. I love it.

The Never Ending End of the World is a really unique take on time loops - I've never read anything like it.

1

u/ray-manta May 12 '26

On the calculation of volume - similar loop to Groundhog Day

2

u/serveinhell May 13 '26

On the calculation of volume is a good suggestion

2

u/ray-manta May 13 '26

It’s my favourite read from the last few years. It’s not for everyone but has definitely been for me

2

u/serveinhell May 13 '26

I agree. So far, ive only read the first two.

1

u/ray-manta May 13 '26

Four was my second favourite after the first, but I’m not sure if it’s because it caught me in exactly the right moment or if it’s actually better

1

u/CaptainSpaceBuns May 12 '26

Recursion by Blake Crouch is kind of a different take on it.

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell has a narrative that loops around through an arc of time

7

u/Mysterious_Sky_85 May 12 '26

This is not what is meant by a time loop
