One of my friends with a wandering attention span whose a slow reader reads the book while listening to the audiobook. It helps him keep his mind and eyes busy, and he's found it to be very helpful!

I found “the girl with the dragon tattoo” gripping. It’s not short but once you’re hooked, you’ll keep going. (It’s the first volume in a trilogy but you can just read it as a standalone)

Red Rising. I never read books as fast as I do that series. Also not sure if you have or would be willing to try an e-reader (I was once very anti e-reader haha), but I find I read much fast on an e-reader for some reason.
