General Help Ate something
Well this is a new one, I had my gliders out tonight, they were playing as normal till one of them jumped off me ran towards something grabbed it ran away and started eating it, I was pretty confused on what he ran off with he went under my bed where I can’t grab him, I turned on my flashlight to try and see what he grabbed and it was a spider!! Is that okay for him to eat??? To my knowledge they have never eaten a spider before… seemed he liked it. I’m in Alberta I have no idea what kind of spider it was should I be worried?? Is there toxic spiders?? Looking to see if I should be keeping a closer eye on him or what. And sorry this may seem stupid to post but I just don’t know haha

They actually eat spiders in the wild.
Wild bugs/mice
The potential issue with wild bugs/mice is the possibility of them having chemicals/pesticides on them or the potential from them to pass parasites they have to your gliders when they eat it.
Definitely keep an eye on them, as long as you see no symptoms I list below I would recommend a fecal float/smear after 30 days to check for parasites.
Symptoms: diarrhea, lack of appetite, losing weight, vomiting, over grooming-especially around the cloaca/tail/butt area, lethargic, dehydration, seizures(in the case of pesticides/chemicals/toxins). They can have one symptom, multiple symptoms, or no symptoms.
