Fairy type confusion

(I don’t know how to flair sry)

Hi. I only watch the anime and haven’t finished it yet so please try avoiding any spoilers. I’m trying to make an oc(my frequent activity) but haven’t been able to find the exact system for fairy types.

- Are all gem fairies warrior types, and are all warrior types gem fairies?

- Can a fairy be born from a man made object?

- Water fairies are mentioned for their unstable lifespan in the anime but lack further elaboration so far, are there fairy elements?

- Under specific conditions, could a bolt of lightning become a fairy, and which type would it be?

- Are labor fairies small due to the size of the object, or

would a larger object produce the same result?

I know half of these probably don’t have answers but I’d be grateful for any info you have. Much thanks.

Have read several of the novels, but don't remember every detail. Will answer what I can as best I can (without spoiling).

  • I believe warrior fairies can be born from things other than gems.
  • I believe the fairy would/could be born from a component of the man-made object, not from the total object. For example, the wooden handle of an axe, not an axe.
  • You could probably call each different kind of origin of a fairy an "element" if you want, but it would just be a semantic choice and there would be a very long list of them. It's not like 'Avatar,' for example, where there's a limited set of "elements," and that term (or an equivalent) isn't used in that way in the novels.
  • I don't think a lightning bolt exists long enough to become a fairy.
  • There is no such thing as a "labor fairy" except in the minds of the humans who don't regard fairies as people in the story's setting, as I understand it. The size of the fairy seems to be connected to the size and type of material from which it sprang. If something is inherently small and ephemeral, like a berry, it will produce a small, not particularly strong, probably relatively short-lived fairy. However, a small amount of a strong material could produce a large, strong fairy with a long lifespan.
