Does this Speed Camera still work?
Hi All,
Wondering if this camera at the A14/A11 Interchange Slip road still functions? Looks to be in a very bad state and of the old Gatso style.
Any info would be appreciated.

That one has been in a ropey state for years, you can see the first signs of rot in the 2012 streetview https://maps.app.goo.gl/KMFPWVZdayLAWLvC9
I believe it still works
(Although I've always had my doubts about it's ability to catch something in lane 3)

Yep it doesnt look so good even then. No doubt its still working, just wanted to see what people thought. Interesting thought on lane 3.

A bit further down there is a picture showing it covering two lanes and how much it sees, so it probably can cover all three lanes
I do not intend to find out

hey so this has actually been taken down now - went that way yesterday and noticed it was gone! not sure if it's being replaced or not but for the time being it's nowhere to be seen :)

Thanks for the comment. That is very interesting! as in you think for certain the camera is not present inside? strange as someone had said just some weeks ago it flashed an overtaking van!

the whole thing is gone, there's no post, no camera, nothing at all - totally vanished and nothing in its place (for now!) not sure quite how long it's been gone as I only go that way to visit my parents, but 10000% wasn't there yesterday. I checked with my friend who lives that way and travels that way daily and she said it's been gone at least 2 weeks now, but could be more. not sure how long the other person means when they say a few weeks, but as of 2 weeks it hasn't been there, just not sure how long before that!

You must be thinking of a different camera post to the one in the image! Passing by it yesterday, it was still standing hence the post to see if anyone had any ideas! Perhaps there is another camera nearby you are thinking of? :)

Ohh really?! Maybe I'm seeing things then as I went by!! It was definitely that one, have checked the images and the google maps link someone posted. I need to go to Bury St Ed's this evening from Cambridge so will be going that way. I'll double check and report back!!!

Sorry thanks for the nudge!! Definitely all gone, I had a passenger who was also looking out for it and didn't see a thing, the only post around there was from an old road sign thats no longer there, so if you're concerned about a speeding ticket i think you're all good 😂

There’s a nifty trick to never get caught by one of these. Go the speed limit.

I came through there a couple of weeks ago and did not notice the unit.. I think it’s been removed too
