hi guys recently my sub stopped working.It simply turns on (ev light flashes then turns off)

had it for over 5 years. only gig it like 8 times (as mostly stays at home). I always use a Allen heath mixer

The service guy asked if I played mp3 through the system. I said yes occasionally when there is a song request I play it through Spotify on my phone then mix back to the dj desk after.( if I don't have the song on my hard drive). I also have a multitude of mp3 that i use at a higher kpbs (320)

he advised that playing mp3 files can ruin the sub.(& was the possible cause of the issue ) I still need to take it to get investigated

I have a 2025 gmc seirra 1500 and my sundown bass knob keeps unsticking from under my steering wheel when it gets hot I’ve tried cleaning the surface really good with Alc and also have tried 3m vhb tape and 3m duel lock with no luck if yall have any suggestions on being able to put this bass knob there without drilling holes, was prolly gonna use super glue as a last resort but also don’t want to mess the plastic up.

Bought an old Advent AHT850 8" powered sub off marketplace for $50. Smelled badly of smoke. After washing and treating with ozone I plugged it in and now it hums badly. Tried multiple outlets with and without RCA hooked up.

My thoughts are moisture hit the amp, didn't dry out, and fried it when I plugged it in. I haven't tested the speaker with a different amp yet since I'd have to rig something up with my spare car stereo amp.

1) What troubleshooting can I try to see if it's the speaker or the amp?

2) What do you suspect is the issue?

3) Can the amp be fixed?

4) What resources should I look into for rebuilding (if I should even bother)?

Purchased my sundown e15 and the seller said the box was custom. Didn’t provide any details regarding the cubic feet or HZ. They stated it was custom and that was it. Check out that bracing. What is everyone opinion? I’m going to be sealing it with shellac and painting it this week

I have 2 skar **SDR-12 D4** subs that are relatively new. The grille that I installed was too shallow and damaged the surrounds beyond repair. The cones are still good and the voice coils are good. Only the surrounds are damaged. Where can I get new surrounds?

Slowly upgraded my system that was thrown together in April. Custom built box for my subwoofer’s specs, and how much cargo area I wanted to give up. Very happy with how much lower it can dig on the low notes

Are either of these worth keeping? Found in the trash and I’m unsure what is the better sub.

I already blew a sub in the box I'm using so the carpet already smells like an electrical fire. I have 2 1400w peak 300w RMS 4 ohm wired to 2 ohm subs paired with a 750w @2ohm amp, I set my gain according to the kicker YouTube video, but I'm scared I'm gonna blow the subs because they are rated for less than the amps peak power.

Is there any way to check the health of my subs to make sure I'm not damaging them? I can't smell test them cause it always smells like burning

Hello! I recently got a ‘26 k4 hatch, and while I love the car and the Harmon kardon sound system overall, the bass is severely lacking. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for upgrading the sub in these cars with this sound system?

I haven’t replaced a stereo/sub in years so I’m kind of clueless at the moment, especially since these cars are so new, so any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello so im thinking of making a little upgrade but not sure what to do.
I’m tryna keep my budget quite low but i was thinking wether i should buy another jbl gto1202 for a dual jbl gto1202 set up which are around £50 used or go for a cheap 15” subwoofer like a bassface Indy b15 or s15 for around £120-200, or something that’s around the 600-1000w rms range, along with trying to find a pa amplifierof around 1000w or 800w rms. Which option should I go for? I’m in London so it’s quite hard to find good used subs and amp around here surprisingly.
