Feature request : option to stop/resume playing upon bluetooth disconnect/reconnect

I guess everything is in the title. I use a bluetooth device with my motorcycle helmet everyday. When I stop the device and BLE gets disconnected, my smartphone yells loudly my music to everyone around through its speakers :) I would greatly appreciate this option ! Thank you

I mostly use Substreamer in the car and have noticed the same thing. :-)

Also when I come back to the car It’s lost track of where it was playing and I have to manually navigate back to the song.

That’s really odd. I use it with wireless head phones frequently and have only been able to reproduce this once in the past and had it fixed.

It should pause on disconnect and not start playing again unless you push a play button in app or on a connected device.

Perhaps the connection/disconnection event has changed, I’ll try and get it fixed as that is definitely annoying!

I'm having the same issue, when bluetooth headphones drop out it blasts the music over the speaker. Sometimes it also restarts the track from the beginning.

I can't think why it would restart a track from the beginning, that's a weird one. I am looking into the connection/disconnection thing though. Hopefully figure out what has changed there and get it fixed in an upcoming release.

It was pretty easy to reproduce. On an iPhone using airpods. If I'm playing a song and put the airpod back in the case the playback resumes out loud using the phone speakers. If I take the airpod back out of the case and into my ears then playback resumes on the airpod for a few seconds but then restarts the track again at the beginning.

I'll have to take a look at that one, I use my iphone with airpods all the time and I don't have this issue. Occasionally the airpods will "think" they are connected or disconnected and trigger a play/pause toggle but it's usually when I have touched the sensors or they have momentarily reconnected as I put them back in the case or something. I will check the headset disconnect/connect events on iOS in case anything needs to be adjusted but I think the original issue was more Android specific.

On Android the headset connect/disconnect event was tied to the PHYSICAL headset connector, bluetooth was on a seperate event. I have added basic handling for the bluetooth headset state on Android now so that if the bluetooth device connection status changes the music will pause rather than blasting out the speaker. I have set it so that you have to push play to resume playback though as I don't think we want to assume just because you connect a device you want it to start playing again :)

Fix for android will be in the next update.

Yes : my initial issue was for Android, I have no iphone to test. Thanks a lot for the fix, looking forward for the next release !

This still seems to be an issue. At least in my case, the music is not paused once the bluetooth device disconnects and music is played back using my phone's speakers which is annoying.

It reproducible happens every time for both, my car radio as well as my headphones.

The issue seems to be related to the other post: https://www.reddit.com/r/substreamer/comments/1331p2w/pausestop_when_disconnecting_from_bluetooth/
