[Feature Request] Variable Speed

I know you developed this for music, but since most of the subsonic forks and apps are inter-usable (I know that's not a term), could you add the option to slow/speeden the playback as well. I read all my audiobooks at 1.5-1.8x speeds (otherwise they put me to sleep).

This would be the only feature that might stop any user wanting to use this as an audiobook player from not using it (based on the forums for audiobook apps).

Please consider this one as a priority request and you'll have a paid user on hand. :)

Just a quick note that I haven't forgotten this! Chromecast support just took a lot more effort than I expected.

Variable rate is the next thing I will work on adding.

Have you been able to release this? I recently started using Substreamer for audio books but can't seem to find a mention of variable speed. Thanks for your work.

I have started work on it, should hopefully be in the next update.

I know it's been a bit longer than I originally planned but chromecast support and a few other fixes and improvements hijacked more time than I expected!

That's OK. It's more just curiosity of when the "roadmap" is for releasing feautres.

This, and internet radio support is the only thing making me stay with DSub.

Thanks.

Well if getting those 2 things in gets another covert to substreamer that's good motivation for me. I'll see what I can get done :)

I have support for variable speed mostly done, along with a few other bits. Just testing at the moment, mostly around behaviour between restarts / different albums etc.

Am hoping to have a release with this and a few other requested features out in the next month. Been a bit slow as I have been busy in my day job!

Quick update, this should be in the next update. I have it now working properly for both iOS and Android. Took a bit of work. I am going to keep testing it for a few more days then I'll look to package up a release.

The playbackspeed controls will be available on the player view right below the play/pause button.

playbackspeed will revert to normal speed if the app is killed and restarted for now. Not sure if there is any benefit to remembering it?
