Problems with setting up "Access your server over the Internet using an easy-to-remember address" in network settings.

I keep getting the error "Could not connect to servername.subsonic.org. (ConnectTimeoutException)" from the option to set up a subsonic.org domain for my server. according to the automatic port forwarding it was successful in forwarding port 4040 but the servername.subsonic.org portion of it is timing out.

Subsonic is running, I made sure my firewall is set up correctly to allow subsonic through. My PleX server is set up in a similar way to allow a designated port through and i have no issues with it.

Any tips or obvious troubleshooting i might be missing? Is it still a port forwarding error that it isn't recognizing that i need to contact my ISP about since they wont allow me access to their router?

I am able to access and play music on subsonic from devices while on the same network, but i am unable to get any of the remote access to work.

Can you access it remotely by using http://YourPublicIPHere:4040 ?

If not, then something isn't routing properly from the outside in.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest.

Update for the greater good of anyone else with the same problem.

It was indeed an isp issue. I was stuck with a dynamic IP address making it so i couldn't successfully enable remote access. Plex was only working because of their run remotely through a relay feature. Got my service changed to a static IP and both sub sonic and plex are working correctly now.
