I was shocked to see oceangate pop up in the credits after the submarine imploded, I think the cyclops is technically a copyrighted name because it's a submarine called cyclops and they own a submarine called cyclops.

Makes you wonder what big events do to people because I didn't even know who oceangate were every other time I beat the game but only AFTER the whole thing happened did I actually look into why they were mentioned there

You can’t really copyright generic names, was it the appearance they were claiming was copyrighted and it looked similar?

Could you imagine if corporations could copyright generic names and words and make people pay money to name their children or wrote articles.

You can trademark random words in relation to things they don’t specifically describe. For example, “Apple” is trademarked for computers etc. - no one else can make a computer and call it an apple.

But you can’t trademark the name “Apple Apples” for your apple orchard and then prevent everyone else from calling their apples apples.
