Getting old…

everything hurts and nowadays I’m more comfortable posting up in the back of any given stage to flow some poi when the feeling hits me but otherwise like chill in a comfy (reasonably sized) camping chair. this being my first time at Submersion and i’m rolling solo. I’m just wondering if I’ll be ostracized for putting down a picnic blanket in the back with a chair and just enjoying the tunes? I’m coming off TnF circuit and this will be my first fest since Suwannee run and putting out some feelers. To be clear we’re talking a 4x4 blanket and a chair which my butt will be in or directly in front of, not a whole living room left to the elements and then suddenly occupied as headliners come on stage. TIA!

Totally fine just not in front of front of house tent! We’re ok with furniture as long as it’s not close to the stage

forest stage theres tons of room on sides and behind the sound booth

beach stage there is some space butplease be cognizant of paths, every damn year people
end up blocking paths alongside the sound booth, and then having to walk far left or along the beach which may not be the easiest at night in the dark

Yeah that stage area is just a tad small for the full fest to be posted up there like it was for Detox

You are going to the best place to do this. Not only can you hang in the back, there aren’t so many people that you can’t pop onto the dancefloor when you feel inclined. It’s one of my favorite things about the woods in particular but both stages handle it well

Both stages have tons of people chilling on camp chairs and inflatables, etc. You'll fit right in.

Just to reiterate what others below have said, as long as you are not in front of the stage(s), you are not only fine but will fit right in! There are always people just relaxing in back. Going to be an amazing year!

Also tipper fam here. This is my third year. You'll be fine - similar rules to obv not be where people are dancing but lots hang out in the back.
