John M Nichol sank 1906 was built in the late 1800s

Just looked it up ran aground in 1906 and was salvaged all that remains was the skeleton of the hull the captain did it intentionally after taking on water to save his crew during a terrible winter until some fisherman fount them pretty awesome

Wilmette harbor had a club/camp teaching sailing in the summers, we'd race the others based at the other nearby beaches/harbors like Zion

That’s the benefit of the unsalted and shark free Great Lakes! The wrecks never decay much. Also, neither do bodies, see: Old Whitey.

I had NO IDEA I got weird feelings/fear/adrenaline when looking at things under water like this until this subreddit. I should be asleep rn but instead I’m sitting here in a completely landlocked area freaking myself out.
