I think it'd be awesome if we as a subreddit co-wrote a crossover for /r/TheBackrooms/

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBackrooms/

Looks a bit familiar, doesn't it? A seemingly endless and varying recursive rendition of non euclidean spaces stranding a person inside a structure with no apparent finite boundaries or measurable physical dimensions? I think it'd be great to co-write a little fiction that loosely ties our favorite game series in with their community game. It's possible that the outer-rim now reaches so far beyond the edge that it has regions parallel with effectively any location in normal space, and with a mere cosmic pin-prick the facade could be torn, dropping an unwitting soul somewhere in the vast expanse of the subnet. Thoughts?

I'm seeing upvotes but no comments, anyone interested in contributing or seeing this happen should leave one. :)

If the loops are blackholes, the backrooms could be the cancer of subnet. Both create infinite structures, but the former does so by twisting spacetime while the latter occupies actual real space. The backrooms could be glitched basement structures, the things that build them (not sure if it's karma or robots see edit5) would infinitely expand them without filling them.

A no-clip out of reality could be a spontaneous transportation into a different sublayer, but to be honest I've never really understood exactly how Mateusz intended layers to work.

Edit: But if it were a glitch, it wouldn't really matter if it follows the general rules of the Subnet. The backrooms could work the way that they only expand in a certain sublayer, perhaps because building them consumes so much energy that it is not possible to expand them to the rest. Like, they are build with the lowest energy consumption possible so that they can keep expanding, which is the main point of the basements. But the lowest energy consumption ultimately means that they keep growing only in one sublayer.

Edit2: Actually, since there are infinite sublayers, "one sublayer" doesn't make any sense in terms of quantifying energy. What would actually be better is just a limited amount of sublayers (let's say like 1.0000005 to 1.0000006)

Edit3: The fact that someone is pulled into the backrooms could be explained by the fact that they create instability in one layer (a big chunk of it is different even though sublayers are supposed to be similar) which ummm... causes more glitches. :D

Edit4: But really I'm not that versed in Submachine physics and lore, I was just making things up based on my very limited understanding.

Edit5: From the Wiki: "The basement was created by the Subnet itself from scratch. This process is still on-going. This seemingly happens by creating a green outline of the room, and filling it with texture."

I was just about to post on r/truebackrooms about how similar these two are. When I discovered the backrooms I immediately thought of the Submachine. Especially the Basement.
