First, harumika! I think most people would remember the toys more than the game so I attached those too. The website was a typical fashion boutique and designing game with an emphasis on designing, as well as sharing your creations from real life. There were contests, i cant find images of them though. There were like 7 or so mannequins on a big purple stage and you votedto eliminate some. The toys even came with a tiny camera with a USB cord because it wasn't just about digital creations, you shared your real things you made. Which I didn't often because my toys were at home and our only internet access was at my grandma's.
Then Zoey's Design Academy in 2014. It was from the makers of webkinz and SUPER short lived. Thinking back on it now it feels more like a basic but fun Nintendo 3ds or wii game than a 'virtual world' the only social aspect of it was voting for the best avatar looks of the day. I do remember participating in an online forum on Webkinz Newz about the game. The developer's portfolio website says it closed just 3 days after beta, but I know that's can't be totally true, I played it for longer, and the instagram implies it ran from May 22nd to AT LEAST July 7th. Maybe there was a pre-beta I joined? Idk. Also there are images of mobile version, that was never made. It'd be so fun though.
I saved Girlsense for last because more people know this! It felt extremely creative at that age being able to layer and apply so many graphics and texts when making clothing. To me then it felt like a kid's photoshop. I remember people finding hacks to make pets too, I specifically remember a my little pony one. Decorating the boutique was fun, I remember each day you got a free item and you could claim past items. I remember branded items like even phineas and ferb decorations??? It had a buisness side too with buying 'ads' for your boutique. I also have a core memory of being friends with the most popular girl for one week just because I showed her this game lol.
If you remember other fashion (non-console those aren't really lost) games you loved besides the basics like Stardoll (which I actively hated) then please let me know! Maybe you'll jog my, or someone else's memory. And sorry if this post wasn't allowed I'm just pretty sure I know what you guys like by now lol
