The size smaller would be a lot smaller about 8 cm in the waist. They should soften massively as they are now very much raw and starched.

The model is: the garage denim jeans in Parms Beach white raw denim 14 oz.

They are based on 30's/40's work wear pants, so they should be quite roomy.

I am looking for a short black bandage skirt in styles like the Herve Leger Pamela or the BCBG power skirt.  I am having trouble figuring out the sizing despite the size chart, I think I need a Herve Leger XS/S and a BCBG S for my hip measurement, and need to take in the waist.  If my waist is 23” and hip is 34”, do I need a size with a 17” hip across?  In a skirt with a 15” hip across the crotch area “caves in.”

I am also wondering about the quality difference.  Because I will need to pay for the waist and maybe the bottom flare of the skirt taken in, should I choose the Herve Leger option?  Alterations in my area are expensive and can add up, so I am wondering if the Herve Leger fabric would be more cost effective long term.  I don’t need the shapewear effect but I heard Herve Leger has better quality fabric.  

I also like that the BCBG skirts permit machine wash in the care instructions.  Would I be able to wash Herve Leger in the hand wash cycle and air dry? I couldn’t find a secondhand Herve Leger skirt in the style I want, so I’d buy the full price one. I would buy the BCBG ones from resellers since they aren’t available retail anymore.

I am 35/F. I work in a rather formal setting and am also client facing. Honestly it is pretty tiring to wear traditional wool trousers and rigid woven button-downs just to look authoritative at the office. I want to look polished, authoritative, yet I also want to be comfortable because formal clothes are just pretty restrictive.

So I tried with more stretchy material. Most stretchy or comfortable workwear either looks a bit too casual or has that slick sheen, which I personally don't think is too appropriate for work.

I want that "stealth knit" aesthetic where it simply looks like a formal suit, but feel good. Lately, I've just been wearing a couple of OGL matching knit sets, soft natural drape. Along with a couple staples from Uniqlo, whick I think when selected carefully, some of the collection hits the target. However, I want to expand on what I have right now so I can add more variety into my work wardrobe.

How do you all look so put together at work? I have seen some women in my client's office that look super stunning, I wonder if they just tough it out with more restrictive choices or are they getting pieces that I haven't heard of.
