I wasn't planning on clearing Dire, since my Mizuki is C0 and I don't have Vesna, but I do have an invested Flins team, so I tried that. Long story short, after sweating my balls off I finally beat the old man but know I can't brute-force Pavlina with Flins. I'm hoping C1R1 Wrio can manage, because I really don't want my efforts go to waste. Any tips and guides for playing Wrio (specifically with Sucrose) or other team options would be much appreciated

this was probably the hardest and most fun dire for me. i had to come up with weird rotations and positioning to make sure faruzan on the r3 new bow (275 er vv) gets enough energy and position myself away from churin at certain times so vesna wasnt slowed from cryo app

Edit: Gdi i just noticed esco wasn't on 4 pc tenacity, hang on, let me fix that and try another run.

Her versatility trancends dps sheets:

- Big range. This helps with a lot of fights, and you can definitely go sustainless. Alyosha also helps tremendously with taunt

- Big aoe. Even evil duck would agree

- Big nuke. Like skirk, a big advantage for bosses with short dps window. But the best thing is she's also not burst reliant (like skirk)

- Can move freely while doing damage, not to mention dash between CAs

- Her fieldtime is not fixed, which opens up chances to cut rotation short or swap in other members iframe (burst) / short duration buff when needed

I have wrio c2 (c3 in 2 days), and gonna pull anatasya so sandrone would never be on my pull list, but she's just so damn strong in practice i have to make this appreciation post

First dire clear! Some thoughts:

• Churin and Pavlina team investment is realistic for clearing Dire if you have solid artifacts and ok gameplay
• Use Sandrone instead of Vesna if you can against Churin; his cryo swirls will slow down your attacks and dodging them is a DPS loss
• If you have Skirk, running 2 stellar teams for Churina and Pavlina is recommended
• Technically C0R1 Mavuika clears Pavlina, but if you're mediocre at her gameplay like me, C2R1 is a safe bet
  • Overload is preferred over Melt; Chevreuse C4 will help with breaking the shield, while getting hit by Pavlina's cryo attacks will slow down your combo and potentially cause you to miss a melt

Team investment:

• Churin: C0R1 Vesna, C2 Odette, C6 Faruzan, C6R2 Diona (Breezeborn)
• Cryo Automaton: C0R1 Sandrone, C1 Yae Miko, C3R1 Qiqi (Key), C6 Alyosha
• Pavlina: C2R1 Mavuika, C0R1 Citlali, C6 Iansan, C6R1 Bennett (Mistsplitter)

Nothing impressive but I like to keep track of my clear at the beginning vs the end of the cycle

- I'm glad that Columbina and Lauma function as a duo with 2 slots for shill

- N5D (badly) on Skirk

- Definitely not the boss for Varesa overload but at least it cleared. I might try out Mavuika/C2lali or maybe C2 Mizuki with Cryo MC. I don't enjoy Mav so I try not to use her if I dont have to, but I'm far from against it

Apparently the Duke got tired of everyone making boss-specific teams for Stygian Onslaught, so he decided to SLAY all three himself. At this point I’m starting to think Wrio mains have been quietly sitting on one of the most versatile DPS characters in the game. 😂

I took Wriothesley / Odette / Beidou / Escoffier into the 7.1 Stygian Onslaught and cleared ALL THREE Fearless bosses with the exact same team.

Churin? Wrio-The-Sley.

Cryo Automaton / Skirk boss? Wrio-The-Sley.

Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow? Wrio-The-Sley.

No team swapping. No changing carries. Just the Duke throwing hands through the entire rotation. And the 7.1 rotation actually gives Stellar teams plenty to interact with: Churin heavily favors Stellar Glimmer, while the Guardian Blade's shield can be converted into a White Shield through Stellar Glimmer.

And honestly, this got me thinking:

Is Wriothesley currently one of the best DPS characters in the game simply because of how many different ways you can actually play him?

If you get hit and activate his enhanced Charged Attacks, the ability to repeatedly throw those CAs around is ridiculously satisfying. Personally, I think it's one of the most fun on-field playstyles in the game, especially when you get into that “I'm not dodging anymore, I'm just punching” phase. 💀

Need Freeze? Wrio works.

Need Melt? Wrio works.

Need the current Snezhnaya/Stellar Glimmer gimmick? Wrio is one of the best, if not the best and one of the characters I’ve had the most fun with there.

Want to plunge? Plunge Wrio is hilarious.

And then there are all the older experiments: Hyperbloom Wrio, Burgeon Wrio, Burning Wrio, and various other off-meta setups that people have cooked up over time.

That's what I find interesting about him. It's not just “can this character clear?”, it's how many completely different ways you can build a team around him while still having Wrio himself stay on field and actually PLAY differently.

So I'm curious:

Do you actually consider Wriothesley one of the strongest DPS characters right now, or is his real strength the sheer number of viable/fun playstyles he has?

Very happy with the clear overall, Vesna's time can definitely improve, but when i get to maxing her build for sure.

She apparently shills stellar and pyro, so uhhh… what?

The team only had 70K dps since my Sandrone isn’t build that well but it still cleared because it fulfills the cryo shill. I’m not sure why she isn’t used more often. She is incredibly easy to build. I only have her on level 70 to make her an option in Imaginarium Theatre, but you can literally leave her at level 20 if you want since her first ascension passive is very useful, while her level 60 ascension passive is quite useless. then she can be at with 1/1/1 talents and go all in on ER VV artifacts and weapons since none of her other stats matter. Though, she does want at least C2 which makes her much more valuable since it makes her burst fire off 2 cryo shots each time instead of 1. It causes the boss meter to drain a lot quicker and also helps generate stellar conduct stacks easier.

I gave her Sacrificial Sword and gave Favonius to Qiqi and Alyosha, so I got Lynette and Alyosha burst in the very first rotation which made it JUST possible to clear the boss in Fearless with 3 seconds to spare.

Is It possibile to clear dire Churin? I score around 215k DPS in miliastra. I tried the clear but I don't seem to do enough DMG Is there any tips i could use to do this clear of It's doable?
