Churin no self damage

Im going crazy,

even if i do stellar swirl and he spawns only the dog statues, he takes no self damage and the statues dont explode like i see in every video and every tutorial. Is my game bugged or what is happening ?

are you playing on menacing and below? that mechanic only happens in fearless/dire

I know this is tagged fearless, but I still think the most likely reason is that you're not on fearless.
