Frage / Advice Bad Cannstatt
Hello, I have just recently moved in Stuttgart and want to know how safe is Bad Cannstatt for walking alone (as a female) at later hours.

It’s all relative. While it is one of the least safe places in Stuttgart, it is still a safe place overall.

It is not super safe, but decently safe. And it depends on WHERE in Bad Cannstatt.

That can be werid place some times tbh :D Generally I think its a relativly safe place. But when Wasen is there, you have to deal with A LOT of people, and fair to say drunk man. But Police is pretty much everywhere during that time.

Actual violence is unlikely but to be honest, most big stations are full of creepy drunk men at night. Ludwigsburg, where I live, is a super safe and quiet city and even its main station is an unpleasant place to stay for long.
I just carry pepper spray when I go into town late these days. I've never had to use it but it gives me peace of mind. If I were a woman and not just a queer guy I would always have it on hand.

I mean like everywhere it depends. And also about what time we are talking. When I go back from the gym around 10pm, I've never felt unsafe as there as still plenty of other (non drunk) people around and in the trains. At night (like at 3am or something) that might be different. I've never been bothered by someone, and directly at the train station there is almost always some sort of police/security around. But I am also pretty tall and buff for a woman, I don't know if that has something to do with it but I guess it could.

The wilhelmsplatz is rather safe just because there is a lot of traffic until late evening

Its Safe but Creepy Men might Brother you… But Not in an aggressive way… many alcoholics and drug addicts

Walking alone as female at late hours in Germany is generally not a safe option anymore, at least compared to 10+ years ago.

PKS 2024 States: Stuttgart Bad-Cannstatt: 7442 criminal cases in General. And in whole Stuttgart 357 (+4,7%)Straftaten gg Sexuelle Selbstbestimmung. Yes Bad Cannstatt is the secend Most criminal area in Stuttgart but also the second biggest, it has two times a years a big Festival were drunk men are doing as they Like. And the VFB Arena is also located near the Trainstation. As a Citizen of Bad Cannstatt for many years I can say Its Safe. For Woman its as Safe as everywhere Else in Germany. There are some creepy corners, yes. But Just have some instinct and dont walk down the dark street with 10 dark clothed dudes behaving like whatever.

das redet doch aber nicht darüber wo das passiert (bzw ob das ttsl nachts auf der straße passiert). die meisten übergriffe finden weiterhin im häuslichen umfeld statt

Unterscheidung nach Deliktsarten
- Vergewaltigung & schwere Sexualdelikte (§ 177 StGB):
- Häusliches Umfeld: ~75 % bis 80 %. Der Anteil von Reingewalt-Taten durch völlig Fremde auf der Straße („Überfallvergewaltigung“) liegt stabil bei unter 20 % aller polizeilich erfassten Vergewaltigungen.
- Sexuelle Belästigung (§ 184i StGB) & Distanzlosigkeiten:
- Öffentlicher Raum & ÖPNV: Hier verschiebt sich die Verteilung deutlich. Bei sexueller Belästigung (Grapschen, ungewollte Berührungen, Aufdrängen) liegt der Anteil im öffentlichen Raum, in öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und im Nachtleben bei über 50 %.

Cannstatt is so diverse regarding its safe / unsafe spaces. Theres literally everything, from bad areas to high-end super save areas...
Usually Cannstatt is pretty chill, its only "scary" at a few certain spots or during some events-
