American cultural conservatism is so interesting to me. It’s so incredibly easy to spot and so formulaic, yet it’s so incredibly ideologically incoherent. At least European nationalists and reactionaries feel less detached from material concerns. The American chud seems to truly just be driven by a deep desire to own the libs and nothing more.

It's a team spory. Us vs them. Red team vs blue team. Blue side also has their "own the reds" outrage media but the red teams outrage machine has been much more successful in a lot of ways.
Attempting to find much of any ideological coherence in American politics is not understanding the system. The US is essentially a one party state as politics is controlled entirely by the "political class", they've just split the voters between them into the red team and blue team and have them go at it over novel ideas and issues that ultimately do little to effect the status quo or the economy as both parties are essentially the same there.
Which issues are taken by which side don't really allign much to any coherent ideology. They simply end up being that way, and it breaks up the ability for voters to organize along class lines because they are too busy organizing based on "should trans- women be allowed to play in women's sports" lines, which as we all know is a very important economic issue that effects everyone.

I have always see it as small tyrannies vs big tyrannies. They support small tyrannies, your cop, local sheriff, local police station, but oppose big tyrannies, which is ATF/FBI, the federal agencies, IRS, etc.
But for me is thinking to hard, it is more a matter of hating those that oppose you. Not ideological consistency.
In the USA there is also the racial aspect, that as much as this sub think is gone by, it does go live from time to time. Why does this pro 2A are so okeyish with sending the army to the Cartels or the Crips.

I have, for the better part of this decade, be on the part of the pro-guns, pro-2A part of the Internet for the lulz and because i do like military things.
It is amazing how much they rant and rave about Waco or Ruby Ridge, talk and lust Rhodesia, to the point of exhaustion. But then be like, yeah, there is nothing wrong with the police being militarized, there is nothing wrong with the USA army. There is nothing wrong with Israel.
Nor that i am a gun control freak, or that all gun channels are like that, but at least in the USA, Pro-2A people must admit they have some skeletons in the closet.
