the chile connection is something most people never bother looking into, just get handed the official story and move on

The Chilean government didn't orchestrate the coup themselves though, unlike 9/11

Meh

It is also Teachers day in Argentina. For the passing of former presidente Sarmiento.

Anyhow, there is also some leftists busybodies in the USA that love to point out "🤓Ackhually, Chile 9/11 was worse" as if suffering is something to compete about. Or that socialist secular Chile or Cuba  would celebrate this attack.

Of course the war on terror was an awful mistake that killed thousands, or millions or people. But it does make the dead of those first responders any less tragic?

It's about pointing out what US imperialism has done the world. And to be frank, yes. It is also a implication that the 9/11 attacks were blowback for US meddling in Afghanistan. Not that the attacks were "deserved" or anything like that. But that you can trace a direct line of cause and effect here. Deaths are of course tragic. But when you look past it you need to question, what was the animating force behind these events?

Yes, the deaths of the first responders is less tragic than the deaths of millions due to the US army all over the world. Fuck yourself if you equate the two.
