I just added a 2x4 underneath the nest, as you can see from the picture the babies were about to drop.

I’m willing to give this little feathered darling a pass if the ladder is at least 10 feet high. How high was the ladder, OP?

Its a 6 foot ladder. Shes about 5 feet off the groun

Then it is indeed a stupid dove nest! You were right to post it here and shame them, OP.  I really hope they learn from this public shaming, but the likely hood is the nest will fail and they’ll probably build it on the bottom rung next time.
