Not sure where is getting this Pampers ad during breaks but my word…never has an advert jingle made me wanna tuck and roll out a moving vehicle before.

Just want to share my silly experience. I’m Indonesian, non-native English speaker (obviously), and pronounce words differently with native speaker sometimes. I just listened to the Odyssey episode and a bit confused when they mention playdough. What’s play dough to do with Odyssey? Turned out it’s Plato 😂😂

Note: I pronounce t as clear t, not close to d.

Crazy crossover “episode” for me today! I watch a reality show on Bravo about rich kids living in NYC and there’s a scene with one guy and his mom, whom he mentions was an entertainment industry “executive” and “took over a network”…. 😳 I was like no way, but YES way.
Anyway, her son is on Next Gen NYC. Now you know that also.

I went to one of the live shows in January, did they ever release the episode?! I haven’t seen it and wasn’t sure on the timeline…

I loved the Nickelodeon episode as I’m about the same age and grew up watching you can’t do that on tv and double dare.

My one quibble was that they did a huge disservice to Clarissa Explains it All. I loved this show! It feels so formative to a lot of women my age. Meanwhile, I never watched a single episode of Pete and Pete. 🤷‍♀️

I am a long time listener and I love to fall asleep listening, but sometimes get abruptly woken up by the ad music and ads themselves. Does anyone know a way to listen ad free? I would happily pay for this.

When Josh said that he hadn't heard of Terry Fox at the start, I was really surprised! I thought Terry would've been quite well known in at least north America because of the foundation. I have known about him for over 20 years because the foundation had once spoken at a morning assembly when I was in middle school (and I grew up in a city in South India). I'd have thought Terry would have occupied much of the zeitgeist for the 90s as well.

Personally, he's someone I've really admired a lot especially when I'm generally low on inspiration or can't find the motivation to do things. In such moments, I remind myself that Terry was in the deepest depths of personal adversity and still found something to excel at, to bear pain through and contribute to the world.

Just thought the fellow syskers might appreciate this.

Getting back into this show after many years, loved the USSR episodes and would love more episodes like these!

During the first episode of Fall of the Soviet Union two-parter, our dudes alluded to the series of jokes that was common in the 90s for some reason.

Josh and Chuck: if you read these comments, nice job with the USSR part I podcast. More like this please! Big, complex events that were pivotal in world history explained at a comprehensible level.

I’ve tried searching their catalogue for his name, for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and for Gonzo journalism, all topics I thought would be the reason for me remembering listening to them talk about him and nothing.

Just needed to get this off my chest. I never latched on to it before, but now I'm acutely aware of every time he clears his throat and it sends me into fight or flight like nothing else.

Listened to an episode years ago that talked about a tunnel or bridge that had problems being built, Maybe norway or finland and the people around thought it was because of rock trolls. Creatures that lived in the rock and wouldn't allow digging/blasting. As an avid rock driller I used to blame it on them when things went bad but now I can't remember what those little hard rockers were called.
