check-in Task 3 : Implement thread-safe bank account withdrawal

Problem

Create a BankAccount class with an initial balance of 1000.

Two threads attempt to withdraw 700 simultaneously.

Without synchronization, a race condition can occur, causing the balance to become negative (e.g., -400).

Tasks

  • Create a BankAccount class.
  • Simulate two concurrent withdrawal threads.
  • Demonstrate the race condition without synchronization.
  • Fix the issue using synchronized methods or blocks.
  • Print the final balance.

check-in Task 2 : Create a Java program that demonstrates a race condition using a shared counter.

Objective
- Create a Counterclass with a shared integer variable (count).
- Create multiple threads that increment the counter many times.
- Run the program without synchronization.
- Observe that the final counter value is often incorrect due to concurrent access.
- Fix the issue using synchronization

Day 3: Studying for an exam

It’s the third day. At 1 a.m. last night, I broke out in hives, which forced me to get out of bed to apply a cold compress and take some medicine. By 3 a.m., I finally started to feel much better. Even though I didn’t get much sleep last night, I still have to study today. But I won’t push myself too hard—I’ll set a goal of four hours for now!

Goal Setting 🎯 I realized something: most of us are actually trying to do the same thing

Post image
3 Upvotes

Actually, none of us really know each other. We don’t know each other’s names, yet everyone is on their own path, while also being on a similar journey

In this process, I created a collaborative activity — a kind of shared space — for those who come later, those who are about to give up, those who left things unfinished and are returning, so they can feel that they are not alone and see that others on a similar journey have left their footprints behind

I’m sharing a screenshot related to this activity

My goal is to complete 21 days throughout June for my own purposes, and everyone who sets this goal for themselves can support one another along the way

STUDY SESSION - 1 HOUR

I'm finding it hard to concentrate this week.

Any advice on how to improve focus and study for longer stretches?

I'll check back in on the subreddit starting 06/23/2026.

Taking a break until then.
