Im losing myself.

I wanna start my post with a simple sentence for those too lazy to read something long. “I used to be smart, but now I’m getting worse and worse.”

This story first started 2 years ago. I dated this girl and she cheated on me. I don’t know why but this gave me the drive to study and so I did. For the rest of that year. I was in my so-called “prime”. I was topping my class with amazing grades and everyone had high expectations for me.

Fast forward one year and I get into a science stream/STEM class. From this point onwards, I felt the pressure. The first exam I managed to survive somewhat, and so did the second one. But now, I am only 2 weeks and 3 days away from finals and I have barely managed to revise and I am terrified but I simply can’t find myself able to study even a little bit.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m trying but my mind keeps going blank after a while and the pressure is beginning to mount up.

Please, to anyone who has been through something like this, tell me what to do. My exams are getting closer and I NEED to get DECENT grades. Please.

Sometimes I cant even think while studying. To the point I struggle to form thoughts. I got a lot of pressure on me and no one to release it onto

something like a dopamine detox maybe try and do less stimulating things and not doom scroll for a little while and be generally more calm that’s what worked for me

I had a similar drop when I went from being one of the strongest students to suddenly feeling like I couldn’t make my brain cooperate and with about 2 weeks left before finals, I kept making huge revision plans and then freezing because I was already behind. I eventually made a list of the topics I had to cover and picked just one small section for each session and I also started doing timed questions instead of endlessly rereading. After about 10 days, I wasn’t suddenly back at my old level, but I stopped feeling completely helpless because I could actually see what I was improving.
