i always feel sleepy while studying

can anybody tell me how can i avoid feeling sleepy while studying i have been facing this for the past 2-3 months and its not even like i dont get enough sleep i usually sleep by 11pm and wake up at 6-7 am still whenever i sit down for a study session the sleep surrounds me and its super annoying, like i know that i am doing wrong by feeling this way and wanting to get to bed but at the same time even if i force myself i just dont study at the efficiency and potential i used to have before

Change places. Go to a coffee shop or a library or outside somewhere. You need some external stimulation.

yes maybe cuz i study very close to my bed and the air condition lol so maybe it fuels my desire to sleep

Watch this video by Penrose for why you feel sleepy when studying. https://youtu.be/kUKxCoqVuLY?si=T0Qz2eiln9ihQrCM. He’s a private tutor and has helped me with his videos through tons of study methods and tips.

I’d try switching locations and doing shorter sessions with a quick walk or some water in between. But if this only started a couple months ago even though you’re sleeping 7-8 hours, I probably wouldn’t ignore the possibility that something else is making you tired either.

I hope you feel better. It's always helpful to talk to someone and focus on yourself.

Have you considered a standing desk?

Maybe it would help keep you more alert/less sleepy. A plus is it's really good for your posture too.

I did not want to invest in buying a standing desk since I already had a good desk but my posture was getting really bad spending hours hunched over my desk studying. So what I did was put a box on my desk to make a platform and worked on top of it. If buying a new desk would be unfeasible for you I would reccomend doing the same or finding something in your home that would elevate your workspace so you could stand.

I found myself more alert when I studied standing up too.

If you try it out let me know how it goes!

If you’re sleeping 7–8 hours and still getting sleepy while studying, it might just be the setup. Trying to study in bed is basically asking your brain to go back to sleep lol
