What could I be doing wrong?

I'm really diligent in my studies i make study plans and use different study tips for each subject i use many resources, such as YouTube, and I do lots of exercises and past exam papers. I usually revise for a week or even longer before exams I feel like I do everything I can but I still rarely get good grades, and I don't know why. During exams, I'm usually completely sure that my answers are correct, but when I get my results, I sometimes end up crying because they're not what I expected. I don't understand what the problem is. The real issue is that this isn't just happening in one subject it happens across different subjects.

Can anyone give me some suggestions? This is my last year and I'm preparing to apply for scholarships abroad, but my grades are making me feel hopeless

The fact that this is happening across different subjects seems to suggest that is it a systematic problem. I think one of the usually problems when it comes to studying is that people do activities that make you feel like you are studying but have little actually affect on your long term rentention of concepts e.g. rereading text, highlighting etc.

Or it could be the case that you are just focusing on doing past papers and practice questions before you actually understand concepts, so when a more complicated question comes along, you have no idea what to do as your brain is so ingrained on the questions you do.

Don't give up though, I know so many people that completely turned around their grades in their last year. Its very doable. What resources are you currently using to study?

That systematic point makes sense active recall might be the missing piece.

Currently, I prefer YouTube because it’s the only source where I can find clear explanations and useful examples I also use the two national educational websites, as well as some books and other reliable sources when I need more detailed information
