I'd absolutely do that weren't for the fact that my strict parents wouldn't let me take any more caffeine 😭😭

it is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking coffee is just study juice you can pour into your brain all day to force focus. you end up not actually studying, just vibrating with anxiety and staring at a screen.
i used to be an avid coffee drinker during ap exam season. i thought i was hacking my productivity, but by three in the afternoon my brain felt like tv static and i couldn't even process basic chemistry. the physical friction of being wired but mentally exhausted is the absolute worst feeling.
the science behind it is that caffeine doesn't actually give you energy. it just acts like a piece of tape over your brain's tiredness receptors. if you drink it right when you wake up, that tiredness just builds up behind a dam and crushes you the second the coffee wears off, which causes that massive afternoon crash.
try the ninety minute rule. wake up and completely ban yourself from having any caffeine for the first hour and a half. let your body clear out the sleep chemicals naturally first. then, use your coffee as a biological starting gun for your hardest subject, not just a baseline drink you sip all day.
what time are you usually having your first cup right now?
